According to an April 11, 2025 article in USA TODAY, the Trump Administration is considering a budget proposal that would completely eliminate funding for Head Start. These proposed cuts put nearly 800,000 children and families in more than 17,000 centers in every state at risk.

Join thousands of parents, caregivers, and alumni to sign the letter to the President and Congress demanding they protect Head Start.

The St. Mary Parish Ready Start Network is an initiative created by the Louisiana Department of Education to uplift and promote kindergarten readiness by increasing access and high-quality education for children of the St. Mary community. Our network comprises 12 education partners, with partners extending in early childhood centers, school systems, charter schools, tribal schools, and Head Start.
