🍂🎃 Fall Fun Under the Johnson County Sun! 🎃🍂
We kicked off the 2026–2027 Johnson County 4-H Junior Leader year with an evening full of FALL FUN! 🌽✨

Our Junior Leaders enjoyed pumpkin carving, roasting s’mores, exploring the corn maze, jumping on the jump pad, and taking on the bale mountain. 🎃🔥🌽

🏆 Congratulations to Anne Chrisman who was named the 2025-2026 Outstanding Junior Leader!

A huge THANK YOU to Kelsay Farms for welcoming our Junior Leaders and supporting the Johnson County 4-H program! We are so grateful for our community partners who help make experiences like this possible. 💚

💚 Missed the kickoff? Brand new to Junior Leaders? No worries! We would still LOVE to have you join us! Junior Leaders is open to 4-H members in grades 7–12, and there is plenty of fun, service, leadership, and friendship ahead this year.

Johnson County 4-H Junior Leaders — we’re kicking things off with an evening full of FALL FUN at Kelsay Farms! 🍂🍁

📚 A quick note about the date: We understand that October 6 may fall during fall break for some of our schools. With the number of school districts in Johnson County, fall breaks being spread throughout the month of October, and Kelsay Farms’ availability, this was the best date we were able to find that worked for our Junior Leader Kick Off. We hope as many of you as possible can join us! 💚

Who remembers when Steve Woods (far right) came and spoke to our group a few years ago?! You can catch him on the officiating crew tonight on the Lions/Panthers game. So cool to see him in action especially on a controversial call! 😬 Indiana 4-H

The annual Johnson County 4-H Junior Leader Poinsettia Sale is HERE!

Poinsettias are $12 each and make a great addition to your holiday décor or a thoughtful gift for family, friends, schools, churches, and businesses.

Best of all, proceeds help support Junior Leader activities and service projects, including purchasing gifts for local families through the United Way Christmas Angels program.

Orders and payment are due to the Johnson County Extension Office by Friday, October 23, 2026.

Poinsettia pickup will be Thursday, December 3, from 3:30–6:30 p.m. at Heritage Hall.

Order forms and sale information are making their way to your email and mailboxes soon, so keep an eye out and get ready to start selling!

Looking for a quick way to earn service hours, help out in our community, and get a head start on your Junior Leader Record Sheet? We’ve got an opportunity for you! 💚

Join us on Saturday, September 19 at the fairgrounds to help with event setup at 11:00 a.m. and tear-down at 6:30 p.m. at Scott Hall. The work is not difficult and is typically pretty quick! ⏰

🎉 BONUS: The group that helps will receive a $100 donation for the day!

🚗 The fairgrounds will also be hosting a Car Show/Swap Meet. When you arrive, identify yourself as being with the Rural Youth group in Scott Hall so you will not be charged admission.

This is your reminder that Junior Leader Record Sheets are due TODAY to the Extension Office! The Extension Office is closed today, however, we have an overnight drop box that is located by the sidewalk that you can put any record sheets in. This drop box will be checked on Monday morning (August 3) at 8:00am.

If you utilize the drop box make sure that you put your record sheet in something that protects it from the rain because the box does get rain in it sometimes (clear protector or Ziploc bag).

Late record sheets will not be accepted. We will not accept record sheets that are emailed, you must physically bring them in or put them in the drop box.

Reminder - to complete Junior Leaders you must have completed each of the following -

✅work one coke stand shift at the fair
✅assist with project judging or checkout
✅find a team building or activity to do with your ✅regular 4-H club
✅earn 150 points

If you did not complete all the items above, then you will not be eligible to complete Junior Leaders as a project this year.

If you are a recently elected Junior Leader Office for next year (26-27) you must complete Junior Leader's this year (25-26) to be able to hold your officer position for next year.
