🌳 Stop by the Franklin Public Library now until noon!

There are several great tables set up, including local organizations (like us 😊), and the City of Franklin is giving away FREE trees! 🌱

It’s a beautiful day to get outside, learn something new, and take home a tree for your yard. Come say hi!

If you noticed a little extra smoke in southern Franklin today, this is why! 🔥

Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy completed a prescribed burn at our Ryan Creek Prairie property. These carefully managed burns are a critical tool for maintaining healthy prairie ecosystems. They help control invasive species, recycle nutrients back into the soil, and promote the growth of native plants.

All burns are conducted under specific weather conditions and with trained professionals to ensure safety.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to restore and protect these special natural areas right here in our community 💚

Successful Early Spring Burn at Carity Prairie 🔥🌱

Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy recently completed a successful prescribed burn at Carity Prairie. These carefully planned burns are an essential part of maintaining healthy prairie ecosystems - helping control invasive species, recycle nutrients, and encourage the growth of native plants.

We’re grateful to our dedicated volunteers and partners who made this work possible!

🎭 MALC at Swing State Talkback!

Last night, our board member Howard Aprill joined the cast for a powerful post-show talkback following Swing State. Howard represented Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy in a thoughtful discussion alongside three of the show’s actors, sharing reflections on the themes that connect art, land, and community.

The conversation was engaging, insightful, and a wonderful example of how storytelling can deepen our understanding of conservation and the places we call home.

If you haven’t seen Swing State yet, don’t miss it — performances run through March 8. Howard will be back representing MALC during the talkback again on Thursday, March 5!

Thank you to the cast and production team for creating space for meaningful dialogue — and thank you, Howard, for representing MALC so well! 🌿
