The Franklin Garden Club is a club open to residents of Franklin, MA who are interested in learning more about gardening. We meet the 1st Tuesday of the month September through June at the Franklin Sr. Some of our activities include maintaining the town common garden, field trips, speakers, workshops, an auction, perennial swaps, a game night, socials, and lots of fun!

Interested in Learning How to Make Sourdough Bread?
A program and live demonstration on how to make sourdough bread and starter mix will highlight the October 6 meeting of the Franklin Garden Club at the Franklin Senior Center. The program begins at 6:30pm and is open to the public free of charge. The demonstration will be presented by Olivia Thomes of Hares Paw Farm, Lakeville, MA.

Wondering how to enhance your diet and health? Learn what “Bitters, The Missing Ingredient” can do for you at the opening program of the Franklin Garden Club on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill Street, from 6:00– 8:30 p.m. Participants will discover a new love for the bitter flavor and how to make it a part of daily health habits. For those who wish, there will be an opportunity to make bitters for a cost of $15 to cover supplies.

Learn How to Grow Orchids Successfully- Orchid experts Linda Abrams and Mike Badia will discuss a variety of topics related to orchids. The meeting will take place at the Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill Street, from 6:00– 8:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public at no charge.
“Orchids 101” will include tips on the basics of orchid culture, including good types of orchids for growing in the home, watering, fertilizing, light requirements, potting mixes, repotting and pests. There will also be an orchid repotting demo. Additionally, the speakers will highlight some of their favorite sources for orchid plants, orchid information on the web, and the Massachusetts Orchid Society (MOS).
