๐ŸŒพ Protect Your Kentucky Farm with an Agricultural District! ๐Ÿšœ

Did you know that Kentucky offers a powerful, voluntary program designed to help family farms stay family farms?

Created by the state legislature in 1982 (KRS 262.850), Agricultural Districts help protect prime farmland from rapid urban development while offering major perks to local landowners.

Here is what you get when you enroll:

* ๐Ÿ›‘ Cannot be annexed

* โŒ Cannot be condemned without mitigation

* ๐Ÿ’ง Is eligible for deferred assessment cost when water lines are extended

* ๐Ÿ’ฐ Tax Protection: Taxed at agricultural rate

* ๐Ÿ“ˆ Priority Funding: Benefits the landowner when applying for the KY State Cost Share Program or the Purchase of Agricultural Conservation Easement Program

While enrolling does not make your property 100% immune to eminent domain, it adds a layer of protection that could benefit the landowner.

Do you qualify?

* Your individual tract must be at least 10 acres (or 11 acres if there is a home on it).

* The total district size must be at least 50 contiguous acres (you can easily team up with your neighbors to hit this mark!).

Applying is FREE and COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY. To get started, reach out to your local County Conservation District office to grab a petition map and start protecting your piece of the Bluegrass state today.
