Eric A. Jacobson, CEO of The Battle of Franklin Trust and one of the nation’s leading scholars of the American Civil War, will be speaking at the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club. With nearly four decades of research behind him, Jacobson has authored multiple landmark works—including For Cause & For Country, widely regarded as a definitive study of the 1864 Tennessee Campaign, as well as volumes on the McGavock Confederate Cemetery, the Battle of Franklin, Rippa Villa, and George D. Wagner. Beyond his writing, he has spent more than 20 years working with major preservation organizations to reclaim and interpret key battlefield sites, contributed to national documentaries, and played a central role in projects such as the Fuller Story initiative and the Thurgood Marshall statue installation in Columbia.
