We were back in the sanctuary today, but not without some challenges. We apologize for the disrupted livestream today. We were having trouble with our internet connection. The wire was moved coming into the building late Friday afternoon and caused some unforeseen issues with the connection this morning. We will work to get the problem resolved for next week.

If you’d like a copy of Pastor Jacob’s sermon, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to him.

Construction continues to progress and things will slowly settle back into a new and exciting “normal.” Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, painting of the lower-level (less the new addition) was completed this week; lower-level classroom floors should be done by Sunday; and, the electrician installed lights in all the lower-level classrooms! Trades will continue their final installs this coming week and painting will begin in the new addition.

We will be worshipping in the sanctuary on Sunday at 10a. There is still a little dust on the hymnals, some work to be completed with the sprinkler system, some wires to get tucked away, and pews bolted down, but the church mouse has moved back into the sanctuary and so shall we.

We hope you’ll consider joining us for worship on Sunday at 10a. To learn about the service and the ways you can join, go to https://franklinumc.org/2026/07/30/worship-together-sunday-august-2-2026/.

Big news! The Community Closet’s new main‑floor space is almost finished — and already in use. This move makes shopping easier and more accessible for everyone.

We’re now seeking clothing donations in ALL sizes (kids through adults). If you’re able to give, we’d be grateful. We never charge for the clothing we offer. Everything is ALWAYS FREE.

Check out the latest update and photos of our new setup by going to https://franklinumc.org/2026/07/29/community-closet-update-july-29-2026/.

If you’ve walked through Franklin UMC, or even driven by, you’ve probably noticed the hum of activity and the smell of drywall and fresh paint. Construction continues and our new main-l…

Fast progress continued this week. Sprinkler installation is nearly done in the sanctuary (we had to unexpectedly remove a railing for scaffolding, what do you think?), plastering continued, and we began to paint the lower-level with an incredible group of volunteers (only a few pictured here).

Next week: plastering will be finished, lower-level painting will continue (hopefully near completion), and floors will begin to go in.

Even if you haven’t been following our renovation journey, this is a moment worth noticing.

Our church building — a historic anchor in downtown Franklin — is in the middle of a season of restoration, renewal, and remarkable progress. Walls repaired, spaces reimagined, systems upgraded, accessibility expanded… piece by piece, we’re bringing new life to a place that has served generations.

This isn’t just a facelift. It’s a long‑overdue investment in a facility that will welcome our community for decades to come.

If you’re curious about what’s happening — or simply want to see how a historic church is being thoughtfully restored — we’d love for you to read our latest update:

And if you want to be part of this transformation, your giving directly fuels the renovation work — from structural repairs to modern upgrades that make our building safer, more welcoming, and more sustainable.

✨ A renewed building means a renewed future.
Come check out the progress. Come be part of it.
