We are a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the protection of open space and wildlife habitat.

We work with landowners, towns, and state agencies to permanently protect land in fifteen communities of south-central Massachusetts. Since 1988 Metacomet has worked with landowners, towns and state agencies to permanently protect land. MLT owns 577 acres across our member communities, protects another 352 acres through Conservation Restrictions, and has assisted in the conservation of another 900 acres---land that is now town open space, state parks and forests, and state wildlife management areas. Join us this weekend for our White Barn Farm Hike (Sat 10/17) and Mushroom Walk (Sun 10/18)!

Saturday, we will meet at the farmstand at 8:30AM and hike around Trout Pond and Knuckup Hill, getting back in time for Harvestween! Vibe to live music, visit the pumpkin patch and local vendors, and many more kid-friendly activities.

We are celebrating the permanent protection of 16 acres of forest at White Barn Farm with a series of monthly hikes! Many thanks to MA DCS, Town of Wrentham, MA Audubon 30x30 Catalyst Fund, private donors and the Raymond Family for completing this land protection project. Please join us on a hike!

UPDATE!! Come join us at Rushford & Sons Brewhouse in Upton this Thursday, June 25th from 5:00-7:00 as we celebrate the completion of the Forest Heights project!!

The Forest Heights Conservation Restriction was recorded Wednesday June 17th. This beautiful town-owned Upton acreage off North St. is now permanently protected by the restriction held by the Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) and the Metacomet Land Trust.

Many thanks to the Town of Upton, our donors, SVT, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Forest Reserves Grant program, our legal team at Eliason Law Office and the Catalyst Fund of Mass Audubon. Every donor and each partner played key roles in bringing this conservation project to a successful completion.

We hope you will be able to join us at Rushford & Sons Brewhouse and just enjoy an informal, relaxing time together. The Teddy's Lunch Box food truck will be on the scene and of course, Rushford's own brews and non-alcoholic b**r as well.
