They showed up for Jack. And they showed up in a BIG way. 💚
On August 23rd, two of Jack’s best friends took on the Chicago Triathlon in his honor. What began as a way to remember their friend became something so much more—a way to turn unimaginable loss into love, purpose, and hope.
After 3 hours and 8 minutes of swimming, biking, and running, they crossed the finish line knowing they had done something incredibly meaningful.
Together, they raised more than $11,000 for Project HEAL, benefiting the children of Love for the Children Academy in Ethiopia. 🇪🇹
Jack’s life was tragically cut short in June. There are no words that can make sense of losing someone so young, so loved, and so full of life. But watching his friends choose to carry his memory forward in such a beautiful way is a reminder that while a life may end, love does not.
These boys didn’t just complete a triathlon. They carried Jack with them through every mile. And because of their friendship, generosity, and determination, Jack’s story will continue to reach children thousands of miles away.
His name will be part of the story of Love for the Children Academy for generations to come, as the new high school building being constructed in Ethiopia will be named in his honor.
What a gift to Jack’s family.
