Forrest Crossing Community Association

Forrest Crossing Community Association This is the official site of the Forrest Crossing Community Association in Franklin, TN. This site is managed by the Board of Directors.

There are 631 homes in our subdivision which are broken into 10 neighborhoods, each with their own personality. We have a clubhouse, community pool and 2 tennis courts for the exclusive use of our residents. In addition, we back up to the Forrest Crossing Golf Course, widely regarded as one of Nashville’s top courses.

Residents:

Effective yesterday at 12:30 pm the city declared an Emergency Status 1 Water Shortage in the City of Franklin Water Utility District.

The details of the ban are posted on the city website https://www.franklintn.gov/Home/Components/News/News/11310/1354.

There are conflicts in what is included, and I am trying to get the city to clarify an important piece of the restrictions dealing with home watering of lawns.

You might note on the website that home lawn watering is not included in the restriction, this is in error I believe and this is the issue I am trying to get the city to address on the webpage.

I have a different set of restrictions passed to me from Alderman Potts. The difference is an added bullet in the list of restrictions, it reads:
Watering landscaped or grass areas, with the exception of non-grassed gardens, trees, or shrubs, between 8:00pm and 6:00am using handheld devices.

Forrest Crossing Residents: School is out and there a few items that I need to share.

Pool: The pool is open and lifeguards are present for certain hours during the day. Lifeguards are there for safety purposes only so please supervise your children closely.

Pool Issue: We have reports of teens entering the clubhouse area. Reports as late as yesterday of groups inside the clubhouse which is off limits. We have damage to both sets of doors, which now have to be replaced at the HOA expense.

I read an article about Artificial Intelligence and the use of photos. Please be mindful and careful of taking pictures at the pool especially if it is not your child. Let's have a fun summer and document your families' summer fun.

Pool Clean-up: We opened a few days early this last week and trash, floats, and debris were left at the pool each night. If you use the pool, please clean up after yourselves as left items are subject to being thrown away.

Please close all umbrellas after each use as several ended up in the pool when they were launched during the storm the other night.

Safety: The Board of Directors has initiated many projects related to safety. 1) An AED has been installed next to the emergency phone at the pool. We have a resident that is to set up a CPR/Safety program soon. 2) New sidewalks/crosswalks have been added to assist in safety walking through the neighborhood. 3) Steps are being reviewed for the new crosswalk at the four-way stop to the parking lot. (No formal bids yet), 4) The parking lot at the pool/clubhouse is scheduled to be paved/restriped late summer. We worked to get this project completed before pool season but paving companies are very busy, so it's pushed back into summer. We have voids in the pavement and broken concrete in several areas that are a hazard, so please be careful.

Meetings: The board will meet at the clubhouse on June 20th at 6 PM. It's open to homeowners and we will be glad to go over all these projects. More information and reminders will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Annual Meeting: The Forrest Crossing Annual Meeting is scheduled on Thursday, September 5, 2024. We will likely secure the Elks Lodge gain this year but more information will be published at a later date.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions/concerns. [email protected]

From the HOA Board regarding debris from recent storms.

The board had our tree maintenance providers review our neighborhood in recent days. The board has approved the proposal to clean up the damage and debris. Due to the enormous city wide tree damage, tree companies are taking safety issues first. We are on their list but please be patient as we were told we had no safety issues.

We have driven the neighborhood and asked for input from homeowners of any damage that needs to be reviewed. That list was provided as well if it was on HOA common area or right of ways.

Thank you in advance for your patience. If you have questions or comments you can email me at [email protected].

Have a Great Weekend!

From the Forrest Crossing Board: FCHOA is a member of the Franklin Association of HOA's with close to 20 HOA members. We feel it necessary to inform the community relative to the development at Royal Oaks/Oak Meadows. The corner development plan on the corner has potentially been modified by the Developers. There was a Planning Commission meeting last night with this item as a topic with no decisions made.

The Planning Commission Meeting will be on March 23 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall Board Room. This meeting is a very important meeting for the future of development on this corner.

Last night was the Joint Workshop of BOMA and the Planning Commission. The agenda was full (hence the 4:30 pm start) so public comments were not allowed.

The greater Franklin Association of HOA's position for this site has been NO allowed use other than restaurants. We are supportive of a 2nd floor on the sit-down restaurant that will house restaurant offices.

The Planning Commission was more open to some other uses on the site, but they were clear of their disapproval of gas station or garden center here.

BOMA members were a bit more on our side, the Mayor and Alderman Potts were more emphatic the use should be held to restaurants and 2nd floor office. Alderman Burger emphasized her belief this corner is important, what goes on at this corner is a “gateway” of sorts to the residential communities beyond.
