This year's theme, "What's Your Why?", invites each of us to reflect on the reasons we choose to support, serve, and invest in our community. Every donor, volunteer, advocate, and supporter has a unique story, connection, or experience that inspires them to give back. Tomorrow, we celebrate those reasons and the impact they make possible.

This year, our focus is “What’s Your Why?” — a chance to reflect on the reasons we support, serve, and believe in the mission of Bridges Alliance of Johnson County. Every person has a story, a connection, or a moment that inspires them to give back, and we want to celebrate those reasons together.

Whether your “why” is helping families find stability, supporting youth and community programs, creating opportunities for growth, or simply wanting to make a positive impact in Johnson County, your support matters more than ever. When we come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful change for our neighbors and strengthen our community for the future.

Over the next month, we’ll be sharing stories, highlighting impact, and inviting you to join us as we prepare for this special day of generosity. We encourage you to think about your own “why” and how you can help make a difference.

✨ Meet Our Dancing with the Johnson County Stars Dancer: Mia Papageorge! ✨

Please join us in welcoming Mia Papageorge as our dancer for this season of Dancing with the Johnson County Stars! 💃

Mia works for the Johnson County Health Department and has been involved with Bridges Alliance of Johnson County as both a volunteer and an Ally since 2023.

Although she’s new to dancing, Mia is stepping onto the dance floor to support the important work Bridges Alliance does throughout our community. She especially enjoys being part of our Circles Program and building meaningful connections with individuals and families across Johnson County.

Mia shares: “I tell my friends and family I am a supportive cheerleader along for the ride with a motivated Circle Leader who is trying to change their life circumstances through goals and action.”

So what inspired Mia to say YES to Dancing with the Johnson County Stars?

We’re still reflecting on Mother’s Day at Bridges Alliance this week. 💐

These two photos capture something we see every week in Circles: strength, resilience, growth, and the power of community. One current Circle Leader and one veteran Leader — both mothers continuing to build brighter futures for themselves and their families, while encouraging others along the way.

At Bridges Alliance, we know progress is rarely a straight line. But when people are supported, connected, and believed in, lasting change becomes possible.

To all the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and nurturers in our Circles community: thank you for the courage, love, and perseverance you show every day. We are honored to be part of your journey.

Thanks to SAVI, The Polis Center, and for hosting this important conversation on the community conditions shaping household financial stability in Indiana.

The presentation offered valuable local and statewide data, thoughtful discussion, and insight into the barriers many families are navigating every day. At Bridges Alliance and through Circles, we see these realities firsthand—which is why relationship-based support, community connection, and long-term stability work matter so deeply.

Conversations like this help strengthen understanding and encourage the kind of collaboration needed to create meaningful change.

Our first year at Rock the Block was more than just a race—it was a powerful reminder of what community looks like in action. From the starting line to the final stretch, our team brought the energy, encouragement, and heart that make this work so meaningful.
