On May 24 we recognize and celebrate the 106th anniversary of the installation and chartering of the Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Rho at Franklin College.
In 1909 Phi Alpha Pi was formed as a local fraternity and literary society at Franklin College, under the leadership of Leo Wolford '12 (who would later become ΚΔΡ National President) and Robert Kent '10 (who would later become President of Franklin College). Within a few years, the group sought to be part of a national collegiate social fraternity, and ΚΔΡ took note of the group's success, its well-aligned ideals and principles, and its interest to join a national collegiate fraternity. In early May 1919, ΚΔΡ National President F.C. Ewart presented the group's petition to join at the National Convention, and the petition was approved. Phi Alpha Pi became Epsilon Chapter of ΚΔΡ on May 24, 1919.
Please join us in wishing a happy Charter Day to all Epsilon Chapter Initiates, both Alumni and Undergraduates!
