EWIB said. โThis initiative is crucial in bridging the gap between education and industry and providing students with valuable insights into the manufacturing sector. Students that wish to pursue a manufacturing career path can explore free job-skills training opportunities such as the Youth Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (YMPI).โ
"The Manufacturing Roadshow series is an essential piece of a larger strategy to address ongoing workforce shortages in the Connecticut manufacturing sector," said Shannon Marimon, executive director of ReadyCT, a lead partner in the series production. "These events are designed to be fun and give students the space to envision themselves in an exciting, maker-driven career with one of Connecticut's dynamic manufacturers. By emphasizing middle schooler participation, students get a nice, long runway to pursue engineering and related STEM coursework aligned with these careers, making them very attractive, competent entry-level hires down the road."
