We completed three roofs in the last two weeks, so we figured it was finally time to share a little of what we’ve been doing.

As a contractor, I’ve always assumed people knew we offer roofing — but almost every time someone mentions they need a roof and we tell them we can help, they’re surprised.

The truth is, our roof crew does excellent work, and we’d love to keep more projects coming their way. But more than that, after recently going through our own roof replacement through an insurance claim, I realized just how frustrating and misleading the roofing process can be.

If you’ve ever dealt with storm damage or insurance, you’ve probably seen it too. A lot of roofing companies push contracts that basically say they’ll replace your roof for whatever the insurance company approves — and sometimes even try to “work in” your deductible so it feels like there’s no money out of pocket. In our experience, that kind of approach is way too common.

We’ve handled roofing on our additions, new builds, back porches, and now a growing number of full roof replacements, including insurance jobs. And what we’ve found is this:

On average, we’re saving homeowners around $4,000 compared to what insurance payouts or other roofing companies were expecting to charge.

If you need a quote for a new roof — whether it’s storm damage, insurance-related, or just time for a replacement — we’d be happy to talk with you.

This one was a challenge — and we loved every minute of it.

Permits wouldn’t allow for a full teardown and rebuild, so we had to leave the existing roof untouched and completely reframe underneath the original roofline.

The barn was twisted, leaning, and barely hanging on… but the directive was clear: support the roof, keep it in place, rebuild the walls, and dig down 3 feet to create a proper foundation and enough head height for parking.

Well… we went down 3½ feet and hit solid bedrock everywhere.

Cue the creative problem-solving and some wild temporary framing to keep that roof in the air while we rebuilt from the ground up. Definitely one for the books.

We’re especially stoked the client chose Cypress siding — it completely elevated the exterior.

Big shoutout to some of our favorite subs who helped along the way, but the majority of this one was handled by Noah and Ethan and yours truly!

Hey Tennessee, if you need help recovering up to the storm, please give us a shout! This is a short lame video showing how we helped some people in Franklin, who had their powerline ripped off their house by a tree that also caused framing damage and extensive brick damage. Enough so that they couldn’t just get a new power pole put up. They called on Monday, we made a site visit Tuesday, restored the framing and exterior envelope and save the brick on Wednesday, and have the new service mask, new disconnect, and power from middle Tennessee to their house Thursday afternoon. We focus more and remodels and new builds, but happy to pivot to help Tennessee Get back to normal.

Getting to be part of another cool renovation- shutting off and capping plumbing and electrical in several areas throughout the main house and guest house before the demo crew starts.

This house was tricky because there was more electrical panels than you can count on one hand, and a labyrinth of lines to follow and plumbing, and again multiple water heaters.

A little more progress, finally into the permanent framing of this barn to garage conversion with Garrett Home Services this barn in leaning, twisted, and out of level everywhere, and while our direction is to simply frame under the roof, where we can we are determined to restore proper level lines and create a good fascia line if future gutters are desired etc, beams hopefully popping in later this week, that’s what I’m pumped for

Worth a double post today, still pouching it with Garrett Home Services and Noah and Ethan are killing it, after topping off yesterday digging our 18” trench for the new utilities to barn we, started by running utilities, and finished off the day with a 3rd coat on some drywall patches - but to me, there second coat was already (Italian finger kiss) golden - and we got to witness and clean up from a not so great lumber drop
