WHAT DID PEOPLE ON THE NATCHEZ TRACE WEAR? Find out at the Natchez Trace Parkway Association Annual Meeting Oct. 21 and 22 in Tupelo. Toni Avance, historian at Historic Jefferson College, will share her knowledge of historicl clothing from the period. She may even mention the "unmentionables." It should be a great workshop for reenactors and history buffs. This photo was from Benton Town 2011 in Leiper's Fork.

The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile drive through exceptional scenery and 10,000 years of North American history. Used by American Indians, "Kaintucks", settlers, and future presidents, the Old Trace played an important role in American history. Today, visitors can enjoy not only a scenic drive but also hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping.

Accomplished photographer Marc Muench visited the Natchez Trace Parkway twice in 2010. The resulting pictures show the beauty and history found on the Parkway.
