Founders Pointe Homeowners Fan Page

Founders Pointe Homeowners Fan Page A fan page for the wonderful 352 Home Neighborhood in Franklin, TN It was then known as Poplar Grove because of the tall forest of Poplar trees.

Our 352 home neighborhood is located just west of Franklin, Tennessee off New Highway 96 West. The Founders Pointe Homeowner's Association keeps up this Facebook Fan Page primarily for information exchange for its residents and the community. The Founders Pointe community, which was developed by Zaring Construction Company in the 1990's, has had a rich history. After being occupied long ago by the

ancient Stonegrave Indians, it was part of a huge land grant to Major Anthony Sharpe, a veteran of the Revolutionary Army. Major Sharpe sold 640 acres to Abram Maury in 1799 which included what is now the City of Franklin. Abram Maury surveyed, founded, and named Franklin and went on to be a man of consequence in the area. The Maury family homestead was located in what is now Founders Pointe, and the family cemetery is now part of Founders Pointe common grounds. Founders Pointe is now a beautiful, thriving neighborhood and the Homeowner's Association is organized to serve all of the residents.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Founders Pointers!

Well the weather forecast continues to be severe for this afternoon/evening. For your safety, we encourage all Founders Pointe homeowners to refrain from Trick or Treating with their kids tonight.

We also understand that the big Franklin vs. Centennial football game is tomorrow night.

In an effort to help as many families as possible participate in Trick or Treating in the neighborhood (and allow as many as possible to be home handing out candy), we will be moving Trick or Treating in Founders Pointe to SATURDAY evening, 11/2 (as several other subdivisions have also done).

We hope you have a fun, safe and dry Trick or Treating experience. Hope to see you out there and GO REBELS!!!

Your Founders Pointe Board of Directors

HALLOWEEN UPDATE!!!

Currently the weather forecast for Halloween evening is looking rather spooky. We will continue to watch the forecast and make a final determination in the morning on whether or not to move Trick or Treating in the neighborhood to Fri. evening 11/1.

Parade cancelled, BUT contest is on -- on Facebook!

Dear Neighbors,

In the interest of safety, we have to cancel this morning's parade. Bicycles and slick roads (not to mention crepe paper and rain) don't mix.

HOWEVER, a little rain won't dampen our Independence Day spirit!

There are still ribbons and prizes to be won! Post photos to the Founders Pointe page and/or email them to [email protected] by 1 p.m. today with name and address information. Judges will review and winners will be announced via Facebook by 3 p.m.

There is a $20 Brothers' Pizza gift card waiting for the most patriotic family! If you can get your family to don their best patriotic get-ups and pose for a photo, dinner may be covered tonight!

Despite the soggy weather, have a HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY and celebrate the hard-won freedom we all enjoy as Americans. Sincere thanks to those in Founders Pointe who have sacrificed to ensure that freedom. We appreciate you.

FYI, Dunkin Donuts is open and has some special patriotic donuts should parents need a consolation prize. :)

Don't miss the
Founders Pointe Independence Day Parade!

In case of rain, the parade will have to be cancelled. We will celebrate with treats at the pool another day. Please check your email (or window!) before you leave for the parade.

Ribbons and PRIZES will be awarded to the "best decorated" in each of the following categories (NOTE: all entries need to stop by the table in the parking lot upon arrival in order to get an entry number):

*Bicycles (2 wheels)

*Bikes with training wheels/Tricycles/Scooters

*Wagons/Strollers/Kiddie Cars

*Cutest Patriotic Pet

*and BEST FAMILY ENTRY

8:30 a.m. - Arrive - judging will be between 8:30 and 8:45 in the pool parking lot (make sure to get your entry number when you arrive!).
8:50a.m. - Brief ceremony followed by a short parade ride/walk led by the Franklin Fire Department.

The parade will end back at the pool house where we'll cool off with cold drinks and frozen treats! The Franklin Fire Department will stay for awhile for kids and kids-at-heart who would like to visit and check out the truck.

Neighbors on Promenade Court: Please make sure your vehicles are off the street by 8:15 a.m. to make room for the fire truck and to avoid handle bar scratches. You may park in the very back of the pool lot. Thank you!

Still Needed: Judges! This is a fun job - especially for our neighbors whose kids may have out grown the decorating contest (though technically it is open to all ages!!). Please email Catherine Brown at [email protected].
