Williamson County CASA

Williamson County CASA Williamson County CASA, located in Franklin, TN, to advocate for abused and neglected children.

Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) believes every child who has been abused or neglected deserves to have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school and in our community. To accomplish this, CASA educates and empowers community volunteers who ensure each child's needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system. When the stat

e steps in to protect a child's safety because the people responsible for protecting them are unable or refuse to accept the responsibilities, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations and help the judge decide what's best for the child.

We are still feeling it.

Thursday, May 7 at the Historic Franklin Theatre, this community raised over $220,000 for children in Williamson County's juvenile court system. We came in with a goal. You blew past it.

That number exists because of the people in that room โ€” and the people who couldn't be there but showed up anyway.

To Matt Maeson, Tom Riles, our committee (Becky, Joy, Jo, and Danyelle), our board, our advocates, our volunteers, Judge Guffee and Judge Franks, and every single person who sponsored, donated, bid, or cheered โ€” we see you. We are so grateful for you.

To the individuals who shared their stories on that screen: thank you for trusting us with what matters most. Clips to come!

This is Voices for Children. This is what community looks like.

The #1 way to support children in Williamson County's court system right now?

Join us at Voices for Children on May 7th.

Right now, hundreds of kids in our community are navigating abuse and neglect cases โ€” scared, and often without a consistent adult in their corner. A CASA volunteer changes that. They show up in courtrooms, help identify safe and permanent homes, and make sure a child's voice is actually heard.

This work isn't just about getting kids through a hard season. It's about making sure they have somewhere stable to land โ€” for good.

This year's Voices for Children features a live concert by Matt Maeson ("Cringe," "Hallucinogenics" feat. Lana Del Rey) โ€” whose wife volunteers with WCCASA โ€” plus a live auction and good people doing good things.

Presented by Jackson Financial โ€” 15 years of showing up for kids in our community.

What a day. ๐ŸŒฑ

Huge love and gratitude to our friends at โ€” a Voices for Children sponsor โ€” for showing up in such a big way on Friday. A crew came out and completely transformed our yard โ€” weeding, planting, placing pinwheels and signs for Child Abuse Prevention Month โ€” and another group headed into downtown Franklin to pass out posters for our upcoming fundraiser. A special shoutout to board member Elise Rogers for organizing the HCA team and to board member Ernie Reynolds for donating a tree to our grounds. The space looks incredible and our hearts are full.

After all that hard work, we gathered for lunch from โ€” a fitting way to celebrate community partners. Of course after that, CASA advocates gathered at for a happy hour hosted by our Advocate Community Committee โ€” thank you to the whole A. Marshall family for making this month one to remember.

AND ...the next morning, advocate committee chair Jo Baxter and I laced up for a 5K with supporting Alzheimer's research and care.

Tired legs, full hearts. This community shows up. Every single time.

Speaking of showing up โ€” our Voices for Children benefit concert is May 7 at the Historic Franklin Theatre featuring Matt Maeson. April = Child Abuse Prevention Month โ€” and CASA volunteers continue their committed, steady work for each of our 330 children.

While the flowers outside remind us spring has sprung, they're in the courtroom, showing up for kids who need someone in their corner. We think that's worth celebrating.

Here's one fun way to join in: go eat. Yes, really.

All month long, Puckett's Restaurant Franklin and Scout's Pub are donating a portion of sales from select menu items to WCCASA. Cinnamon rolls. Bread pudding. Pub rolls. Your dinner plans just got a little more meaningful. We're so grateful for community partners like A. Marshall Hospitality.

And if you want more ways to show up โ€” tickets are on sale now for Voices for Children, May 7 at the Historic Franklin Theatre. Link in bio. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

He makes music that moves people.
She shows up for kids who need someone in their corner.

Meet Matt Maeson & Alyssa โ€” and join them May 7 at Voices for Children.

Here's what Alyssa, CASA Advocate, has to say about it:

"I'm excited to see two of my worlds collide at this year's event. My husband, Matt, is a singer-songwriter with an incredible gift of dignifying the darkest feelings and experiences humans can face.

This is pro-life work. This is how I can show up for my community, for children who have been dealt a really tough hand in life, and for their parents, who are so often repeating a pattern they've always lived in."

Nights like this don't happen without the people who believe in the mission first. A huge thank you to our 2026 Voices sponsors who have stepped up alongside our CHAMPION and Presenting Sponsor Jackson :
