The Franklin Improvement Society, a registered 501(c)3, has been active in the community for many years, leading projects such as:

• Storage shed installation
• Franklin Memorial Park and Franklin Edible Walking Trail maintenance
• Maintaining Main Street flower barrels
• Assisting the Franklin Tree Advisory Board with tree plantings
• Hosting the annual Christmas Stroll and Santa and Mrs. Claus at the fire hall
• Rehabilitation of Franklin Memorial Park fountain
• Creating the Franklin Memorial Park, our most ambitious project to date
• Erecting “Welcome to Franklin” village signs
• Financially supporting the restoration of a Main Street building’s façade

Over the past three years, we have revitalized and reorganized our Society with new members, new leadership, and renewed interest from community members as we partner with other local nonprofit and municipal organizations under the guidance of long-time member Kim Hyzer.

If you would like to attend a meeting, become a member, or volunteer with us for specific projects, please private message us or comment below. We anticipate that the next in-person meeting will be Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 7pm in Village Hall.

The Franklin Improvement Society Mission Statement:

Our Society endeavors to encourage revitalization of our commercial district and preservation of Franklin’s historic character. We hope to encourage improvements that will create a positive effect on our economic conditions and quality of life in Franklin. We hope to help our community to grow and prosper for generations to come. We hope to attract new residents, business and visitors to our community. We desire to work with and encourage organizations that already do so much for our community.

We have such a wealth of beautiful architecture in our village that has been well maintained and preserved. We would like to see our downtown area rejuvenated with viable enterprises.

In-person meetings are on hold until spring, but if you'd like to be added to the email list, please send us a dm.
