Connection creates community, and everyone deserves a place to belong! 💚

On Saturday, Franklin Connects brought together more than 50 local organizations for its Community Fair, helping residents discover new ways to get involved, build meaningful relationships, and find a sense of belonging.

Born out of Find Hope Franklin, Franklin Connects is a community initiative dedicated to reducing loneliness and strengthening connection throughout our city.

We’re grateful to Mayor Ken Moore, Williamson Health, the participating organizations, and everyone working to make Franklin a place where no one has to feel alone.

Because a more connected community is a healthier community.

Truth: You can feel isolated at a party, in a busy office or surrounded by family… and it’s just as real.

Loneliness is about connection, not headcount.

There’s a phrase circulating online: “kinda chic to ___” that reframes things people once felt embarrassed about as things worth doing.

Long before it was a trend, Franklin was already living it. Our community consistently ranks among the best places to live, and the reason isn’t the scenery, it’s the people. Neighbors who check in on neighbors. Friends who ask “how are you, really?”

But even here, loneliness exists. It doesn’t discriminate. And for many, the hardest part isn’t feeling it, it’s admitting it.

That’s the work behind Franklin Connects: real conversations, without stigma, so no one in our community carries that weight alone.

A pet can be your “social sidekick.” According to PAWS (Pets and Wellbeing Study), 54% of respondents say their pet has had a positive impact on their social life helping spark conversations, connections and even new friendships. Plus, 71% of pet owners say they’re more likely to get outside.

Whether it’s a dog walk that turns into a chat with a neighbor or a shared love of animals that brings people together, pets have a way of building community right here in Franklin.
