Hey Franklin, join The Refuge Center for Counseling at Church of the City on February 14 for their "Live Intentionally" event. Held annually, the theme for this year is on addiction: LIFE OUT OF CONTROL: No One is Beyond Saving.

This is for anyone: those in the mental health space, the medical field, addiction and recovery specialists, church leaders, community leaders, and ANYONE who wants to learn more on the topic of ADDICTION. The morning will feature both nationally known and local speakers covering the topics of social media and technology addiction, eating disorders, sexual addictions, gambling addiction, addiction psychiatry and op**te addiction/recovery.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Stephen Loyd, Chief Medical Officer Cedar Recovery who recently spoke at our November event "Together We Can Find Hope."

The event will take place from 8am-12pm and tickets are currently $35 and include 3 CEU's. Tickets increase to $50 on February 1. You can purchase tickets at refugecenter.org/events

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EIC) is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year. 💡

All rising tenth through twelfth-grade students in WCS are eligible to attend the EIC. Students can access the application by selecting the EIC icon on their ClassLink Dashboard. All applications are due by February 10, 2025.

"The EIC provides students with opportunities not found at high school, including mentorship from local business leaders, speaker series and pitch nights," said EIC Assistant Director Paula Chilton. "Here, you will start up your business, launch it and grow it."

For those wanting to learn more about the program, the EIC will host an open house on Wednesday, January 29, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
