2025: Busiest Year on Record for the Countywide Fire Department System
The year 2025 proved to be the most active year to date for our countywide fire department system. According to Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) data, the total emergency responses by department were:
• Browning – 631
• Alvaton – 1,290
• Smiths Grove – 625
• Richardsville – 1,384
• Woodburn – 851
• Gott – 367
• Barren River – 427
• Hadley – 129
• Plano – 718
These numbers reflect a sustained and growing demand for emergency services across the county. Behind responses are a team of dedicated volunteer and compensated personnel, working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
Looking ahead, according to independent studies and analysis, Warren County is projected to grow by approximately 3,500 residents per year for the foreseeable future. Combined with increased rail and roadway travel, this growth is expected to create additional challenges for emergency services; more potential incidents, longer response routes, and greater need for coordinated, timely, and effective service.
Our countywide fire department system is actively preparing to meet these challenges by:
1. Coordinating volunteer and compensated staffing for maximum coverage
2. Enhancing training for evolving hazards and high-traffic response scenarios
3. Investing in equipment, apparatus, and technology
4. Strategically planning to ensure coverage across growing neighborhoods and busy travel corridors
The record activity in 2025 demonstrates the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork. With continued support from the sitting Fiscal Court, the 9 volunteer fire departments, and our allied public safety agencies, we remain committed to keeping public safety a top priority as Warren County grows.
Together, we are building a safe, resilient, and well-prepared system for the future.
