Our thoughts and prayers are with Chief Carr, ShawnandMark Carr, his two sons and his Franklin Fire and Rescue family. Chief, you fought the good fight. You will be remembered by all that knew you. Your legacy will live on. Thank you for your service and leadership throughout the years.

Franklin Fire & Rescue mourns the passing of former Deputy Chief Mark W. Carr.

Chief Carr devoted years of dedicated service to the fire service and to the City of Franklin. Throughout his career, he demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the men and women he served alongside and the community he was entrusted to protect.

His contributions to this department and to the fire service will not be forgotten. The legacy he leaves behind is reflected in the lives he influenced, the firefighters he mentored, and the continued service of those who follow in his footsteps.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Chief Carr’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all who had the honor of knowing and serving with him.

Today, we honor his service. We remember his leadership. We carry forward his legacy.

Rest in peace, Chief Carr. Your watch is ended, but your service and memory will remain a lasting part of the Franklin Fire & Rescue family.

Chief Carr dedicated is entire career helping the citizens of the City of Franklin and Southampton and Isle of Wight counties. He has mentored and led an untold amount of Fire and EMS personnel. Please help us help him. We will also be accepting donations to go towards helping Chief Carr. Thank you for your support!!!

The officers and members would like to congratulate Firefighter Benjamin Barrett on passing his AEMT today. Ben is currently in recruit school with Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue. We are proud of your hard work and dedication.

On behalf of the entire Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the community members who came together to assist during the recent motor vehicle accident on Camp Parkway on Saturday, August 29th.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to help, directed traffic, removed debris from the roadway, comforted the young man, and assisted our emergency crews in providing medical care.

Emergencies can be overwhelming, but these moments remind us of the strength, compassion, and resilience within our community. We are proud to serve a community that stands together. Your kindness, patience, and willingness to help made a profound difference when it was most needed.

We are also uplifted to share that the young man is on his way to recovery.
