Such an amazing morning with Moore Elementary as we launched their first-ever Walk Bike & Roll to School Day in partnership with the Williamson County Health Department! We really appreciate cityoffranklintn Police for helping us cross Lewisburg Pike. Events like this show how many families are in easy walking distance of schools if safe infrastructure can be provided.

Thank you TDOT for getting this crosswalk repainted at Hillsboro Road and Del Rio. You can report paint or other maintenance concerns to TDOT through their website or by phone. Make sure it’s a state road and that you know the exact location.

Pedestrian facilities are finally being added to Royal Oaks and Mack Hatcher Parkway, an area that includes the Franklin Y and hundred of homes on the other side of the highway. TDOT has painted the crossings, while City of Franklin, TN has approved a contract to add pedestrian signals and concrete curbs. We appreciate aldermen advocating that this important connection be added to the road project.

Join Friends of Franklin Parks on Tuesday, September 29, at the Historic Hayes House at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm for a free community conversation all about bike safety in Franklin.

Our Panel Q&A will feature local experts Kem & Bob Harris, owners of Pedego Franklin; Max Baker, Multi-Modal Coordinator for City of Franklin, TN - Municipal Government and Ned Dannenberg, President of the Bike Walk Franklin Committee.

Together, they’ll cover bike and e-bike safety, riding etiquette, rules of the road, navigating traffic and intersections, safe places to ride, and practical tips for riders of all ages and experience levels.

🚧 Sidewalk Closure 🚧 TDOT has begun work to replace the Franklin Road bridge over the Harpeth River downtown. Crews have promised to keep one direction of sidewalk open for the first part of the project. Right now folks walking should stick to the eastern side of the road (the The Factory at Franklin ™ side). We are advocating cityoffranklintn to provide some type of frequent shuttle service over the bridge when both sidewalks must be closed.

Last night, several FPD Traffic Unit and patrol officers joined residents of Ladd Park for a conversation about e-bike and bicycle safety.

Officers discussed local rules, safe riding practices, and ways riders and drivers can work together to keep our streets and paths safe.

We appreciate everyone who came out, asked questions, and took part in the conversation!
