SVV Original Enzian is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022! We are a folk dancing group dedicated to preserving Bavarian culture and customs.

We hope you enjoyed everything including Friday’s Heimatabend/Meet & Greet, Saturday’s Flag & Banner Blessing and Banquet and finally Sunday’s Frühschoppen. What took so long in planning was over in the “blink of an eye”. What a great weekend!

Dear Friends of Original Enzian,
As many of you know SVV Original Enzian is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2022. Our Festwochenende is officially less than one month away and it is our hope that you will help us celebrate this milestone occasion.
Our 100th Jubilee is set to take place on April 1-3, 2022 and consist of a (i) Heimatabend, (ii) Banner Blessing & Banquet and a (iii) Frühschoppen. All events will take place at Plattduetsche Park Restaurant & Biergarten, Franklin Square, N.Y.

Friday night fest prep!

In 1972 Original Enzian celebrated its golden 50th Anniversary with an impressive ceremony befitting the occasion. A sixteen couple Kronentanz was the highlight of the event. It involved 32 reifens (wreaths), covered with evergreen (Princess Pine) and decorated with blue and white ribbons and lights (the colors of Bavaria). The reifens in this dance are used to form various crown figures made by the Buam (boys) and Deandl’n (girls). The final figure was an enormous crown with the blue and white lights shining in a darkened hall. And this year we are proud to be celebrating 100 years!

Did you know that in 1972 (our 50th Golden Anniversary) SVV Original Enzian had so many members that it had a Kindergruppe, Junior Group & Adult Group? Pictured below is our 1972 Junior Group!
