On January 1, 1992 , the Club was founded by its Charter President Benni Fernandez. It was then called Chicago Manila Lions Club. In 2001, the Franklin Park became available as a community for a Lion's Club to serve and the opportunity was given to Chicago Manila Lion's Club. The Chicago Manila was very p
roud to accept the opportunity. The Club was then renamed Franklin Park Manila Lions Club and has been serving the community of Franklin Park since 2001. Club Number:053498

SERVICE PROJECTS:
1. Annual Hearing Screening & Eye Screening for Diabetic Retinopathy
2. Every year since 2001, we celebrate the Thanksgiving Dinner for the Senior Citizens of Franklin Park.
2. Every year we give Awards for the Franklin Park Policeman and Fireman of the Year.
3. Throughout the year, we collect eyeglasses and sunglasses for distribution to the needy children all over the world. FUNDRAISER:

In the past years:
1. We served the Franklin Park, IL Community by providing Eye and Ear Screening Bus for those who wanted to have their eyes and ears checked for free with the help of Lions of Illinois Foundation.
2. We sold candies during Lion's Candy Day to our families and friends as well as customers of local grocery shops.
3. We donated financial assistance and/or eyeglasses to those recipients who asked for our help.
4. We donated financial aid to victims of Katrina disaster.
5. We send money/goods to the Philippines through their local reputable organizations.
6. Participated as volunteers for Feed My Starving Children.
7. Conducted Walkathon as fundraiser for the club
8. and many more. We thank all our previous members and current members for all their voluntary efforts towards the activities of the club. We welcome new members.
