The mission of the West Suburban Special Recreation Association is to provide quality recreation services for persons with disabilities who reside in WSSRA communities, we believe our success will inexorably be tied to our willingness to embrace diversity as a value and a practice. WSSRA believes cultivating diversity requires an enduring commitment to inclusion in our organizational culture, values, norms and behaviors, we shall support diversity in all of its forms, encompassing but not limited to: age, disability status, economic circumstance, ethnicity, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation. Leading by example, we aspire to make inclusivity a fundamental and abiding strength of WSSRA as well. WSSRA recognizes its effectiveness will be enhanced and its mission well-served by promoting diversity in all aspects of the organization. • WSSRA’s Board of Directors represents the WSSRA partners. Board membership strives to reflect diversity in all of its forms, including representation from all WSSRA communities.
• The staff of WSSRA reflects the diversity of WSSRA communities at every level. WSSRA strives to demonstrate this commitment as an organizational standard for WSSRA and its partners. WSSRA’s commitment to promoting diversity is reflected in governance practices, hiring practices, service practices and organizational philosophy.
