We are a proud collaborator with Frankfort organizations. Call it radical, but we think it just makes sense.

This week, we were honored to attend and present at the Kentucky Opioid Symposium in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Our focus: Radical Collaboration

Here in Frankfort, we pulled our resources and organizations together to apply for this grant as an alliance. The devastation caused by opioids is too far-reaching to be abated in silos. Together, we can accomplish lasting, transformational change that no single organization can achieve alone.

This two-day event brings together experts in treatment, recovery, prevention and grant writing to advance the work being done in Kentucky to combat the opioid crisis and maximize the opportunity presented by opioid settlement funds coming into the state.

Frankfort's young people are showing up—and they're counting on us.

With 30+ young people on the waiting list, the need for safe, positive spaces for local youth is clear. The vision for the future is to strengthen the foundation, serve more young people and continue growing the Boys & Girls Clubs footprint across Frankfort and Franklin County.

Because every young person deserves somewhere to belong.

Thank you Life Adventure Center for hosting our mentors and mentees this past weekend for a day of exploration and fun. This is how our relationships get stronger! Some of our Amach pairs joined Amachi Lexington for a challenge course, archery, and a nature connection activity.

👶 Kentucky State Police will also provide child safety seat checks and installations 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. No appointment is needed for this service!

Recognizing one of our OG team members! Meagan has been here from the start. She has been a board member, part of the High School Outreach program, Americorps Vista, Youth Advocate, a strong community advocate and much more. She helped start KRUSH in Franklin County, has mentored so many kids and been part of all of our best memories. Our teens love her and so do we. 💜

After watching her original Wanda J kids graduate this past year, Meagan is stepping down from her role as Youth Advocate. We know she isn't going far and that she will always be part of our core group. She will always advocate for us and be just a quick text away for many of the kids that have grown up with her as a mentor. She helped us build this foundation and we are forever grateful for her love and commitment. Love you, Meagan!

Sometimes making a difference in a young person’s life starts with one simple thing: showing up. Through Amachi of Frankfort, caring adults build meaningful relationships with local youth—offering encouragement, consistency, new experiences and someone they can count on.

The goal is simple but powerful: build a web of caring adults around children and families. You don’t have to have all the answers to be a great mentor. You just have to be willing to be there. Mentoring is prevention.

Prevention isn't always a class, campaign or program- sometimes it's a relationship.

Having a trusted adult, a sense of belonging and positive connections can help strengthen the support surrounding a young person.

That's why mentoring is such an important piece of building healthier, stronger communities.
