Wanda J Here to create and invest in relationships that strengthen the lives of children, youth and families impacted by incarceration. What do we do?

The mission of the Wanda Joyce Robinson Foundation is to create and invest in relationships that strengthen the lives of children, youth and families impacted by incarceration. The Wanda Joyce Robinson Foundation, Inc. is an independent, non-partisan 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that fosters partnerships aimed at healing and unifying our community. We welcome a diversity of ideas and experien

ces in our search for equitable and inclusive solutions to address the impact of parental incarceration on children and youth. The foundation partners with schools, community agencies and other non-profits to provide resources and services to children and families. WJRF has the unique capacity to “fill in the gaps” that macro-level services unintentionally create. Our foundation represents “family”, as in total community- felon, child/youth, law enforcement, correctional system, school, mental health, government and business. Within this family, WJRF provides mentorship for both prisoner and child; support to parents and caregivers; and connection to community. We believe in a holistic approach to breaking the generational cycle of incarceration. This is achieved through the commitment and dedication of the foundation volunteers and board of directors.

The news is out! A couple of our staff members are taking other positions in the community for the long term health of this organization. Don’t worry- we will still keep going as Wanda J… just with some behind the scenes changes. We will be here to support our community and families as we navigate funding and grants in the background.

Congrats, Amy! This will be a wonderful new adventure that will only make our family support stronger.

Ms. Snow is no stranger in Frankfort, but she is new to our Panther family. Welcome, Ms. Snow!

We celebrate our kids every day, but tonight was extra special! Congratulations to our graduates, our scholarship winners and the village behind all of them. We see you and will always be here to support you.

💜💜💜

We had 17 graduates from high school this year.

We awarded five new scholarships.

Many of these graduates were part of our first programs seven years ago.

We were honored to hear from a past scholarship recipient as well as the Hyatt Family.

💜💜💜

Thank you volunteers, cake bakers, sponsors and team for making our first graduate banquet a success! Special shoutout to The Foodie Girls, Thorn Hill Education Center and LEE Building Products. Also, huge thanks to the ladies of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Frankfort KY for helping us yesterday and today!

Fewer Kentucky children were living in poverty in 2024 than 2019, but nearly one in five kids still lack the resources they need to thrive.
