Our Wednesday, October 7th forecast calls for sunshine and 65 degrees - perfect to finish power washing the CSA swim line, and put away the kayak launch and swim dock. We will meet at the dog house at 2:00pm.

Calling all volunteers for a Dunegrass Plant-a-Thon, Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10:30am. Meet at the playground at the CSA Michigan Bluff. Bring a small shovel to dig an 8" deep hole. The great Crystal Lake beach sweep is coming on Sunday, October 11th at 11:00am. ALL boats, kayaks, paddleboards, chairs, etc. must be off the beach by Saturday, October 10th. Thank you cleaning up and helping us get the beach ready for winter.

Thank you to the volunteers who helped clean the lifeline and buoys today at the CSA Crystal Lake beach. Using a power washer, they removed a summer's-worth of algae from almost all of the ropes and buoys. There were still many yards left to clean when they broke for the day, so the fun continues on the next clear day. Stay tuned for a call for more volunteers soon. This weekend the IRONMAN 70.3 race event returns to Frankfort. Details in the link below:

TRAFFIC IMPACT: Sunday September 20, 2026

Please plan ahead if your destination, exit or travel plans included the City of Frankfort, M22 Scenic Hwy, Indian Hill Road (Platte Twp) or River Road (Crystal Lake Twp) on September 20, 2026.

The Ironman 70.3 Michigan bike route will impact portions of these roads from approximately 8am to 3pm. Specifics can be found through the Ironman website or QR link to the traffic impact flier.

Necessary travel TO AND FROM Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital should be via Park Ave. crossing M22 at the north end of Market Square Park / Frankfort Skatepark (Bellows @ 7th). Traffic will not be able to traverse north and south on Crystal Ave for most of the race.

Updated Weekly Beach Report:
Frankfort Beach was re-sampled the morning of September 3rd, 2026, and is now Level 1 – for full body contact. With the updated results, all Benzie and Leelanau County monitored beaches have reported satisfactory water quality.

CSA members: Please remember it is your job to remove your beach chairs, kayaks, paddle boards, boats, etc. and take them back to your cottage for winter storage by October 1, or before you leave for the season.

All boats on the dock or at CSA moorings must be off by September 20.

Your support in meeting these deadlines saves everyone the extra work of getting our beach cleared before temperatures cool down and the snow starts to fly!
