**Human Trafficking Awareness**

Kentucky/Tennessee District Governor Montee Sneed is encouraging all Kiwanis clubs to raise awareness about the growing issue of human trafficking within our communities.

If you missed the recent **"Gideon Army"** presentation, you missed a powerful and informative program. Attendees learned that an estimated 12 million children, along with countless women and girls, are trapped in human trafficking worldwide, generating approximately $173 billion in illegal profits each year.

A special thank you to Kiwanian **Anna Beth Bobbitt** for helping bring this important program to our club, and to **Eli and Sarah Hillock** for sharing valuable information about the warning signs of trafficking and how it may be occurring closer to home than many realize.

Human trafficking is not just a distant problem. It can exist in our own neighborhoods and communities. By becoming informed, staying alert, and educating others, we can help protect vulnerable individuals and be part of the solution.

Together, let's answer Governor Sneed's call to increase awareness and take a stand against human trafficking.

*"Awareness is the first step toward prevention."*

How can you influence the world around you?

One way is through service to others. A special thank you to the Franklin County High School Key Club and the Kiwanis Club of Frankfort for making a positive impact through the Backpack Program, which helps provide food for students on the weekend in the Frankfort Independent Schools and Franklin County Schools.

Working together, these dedicated volunteers packed approximately **250 backpacks**, helping ensure that students have access to nutritious food when they need it most. Their commitment to service is a wonderful example of how individuals can make a difference in their community and positively impact the lives of others.
