Kristie Powe, of the Frankfort , stopped by to share some details about their upcoming Kiwanis Celebrity Roast with Honorary Roastee Judge Executive Michael Mueller! Thursday, September 24 at Thorn Hill Learning Center from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and definitely not to be missed. Proceeds go to the Kiwanis that in turn go toward helping the children in our community!

Kiwanis Club of Frankfort continues to be recognized for hosting outstanding speakers at our Thursday weekly meetings. Recently, we had the privilege of hearing Dwayne (Dee) Depp share powerful insights on rehabilitation and vocational programs for juvenile‑incarcerated youth in detention centers.

Mr. Depp explained that many young people become involved in criminal activity not out of malice, but to avoid embarrassment or to appear “cool” among peers. He noted an encouraging shift taking place: youth are moving away from negative influences—such as certain music and social pressures—and gravitating toward books, learning, and positive activities.

He emphasized the importance of listening to incarcerated youth as a way to build rapport, trust, and meaningful connection. According to Mr. Depp, when adults take time to hear their stories, youth respond with honesty and openness.

Mr. Depp also praised the Frankfort community for the impact it is making. He highlighted:

Strong collaboration among local leaders, law enforcement, and the Kiwanis Club.

A vibrant downtown culture, including concerts and entertainment, that provides a healthy environment for young people.

Local role models whose names and actions are remembered by youth within the justice system.

KIWANIS DONATES TO WILLIAM JOSEPH CRISIS NURSERY

When our local club raises funds to support needs in the community, the Kiwanis Club of Frankfort is deeply grateful for the generosity and encouragement we receive from our community.

Thanks to that support, our club was able to present a donation to the William Joseph Crisis Center, helping provide essential resources for children and families facing difficult moments.

Every contribution, every act of kindness, and every shared effort strengthens our mission — serving the children of the world, starting right here at home.

LANE NORTHCUTT LEADS MIDDLE SCHOOL AND KEY CLUB!!!

The Kiwanis Club of Frankfort recently heard from Lane Northcutt, who is volunteering with the Kentucky/Tennessee Key Club and shared his outstanding experiences as a choir director and arts leader at Franklin County Schools Middle School. Lane highlighted the exciting growth of the program and expressed his enthusiasm for the year ahead.

As a proud club member, Lane also thanked Kiwanian Gary Johnson for his continued support of the choir. He invited all members to attend the musical production his students will present later this year.

🌟 108 KIWANIS CONVENTION MAKING AN IMPACK

The 108th Kentucky/Tennessee Kiwanis International Convention in Alcoa, Tennessee was truly outstanding. From our soon‑to‑be past leadership to the leaders who will take office in October, the impact was clear — Kiwanis is alive, well, and making a difference across our districts.

To everyone who attended, thank you for representing the spirit of service that defines our Kiwanis Family. And to those who couldn’t make it this year, now is the time to start planning. Bring your club’s leadership and members to Bowling Green for the 109th Convention — you won’t want to miss the momentum we’re building.

FRANKFORT KIWANIS and KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY PARTNER to SUPPORT BOYS and GIRLS CLUB

What a great day!!Frankfort Kiwanis and Kentucky State University partnered on Thursday to support the Frankfort Boys and Girls Club. Kiwanis purchased the hot dogs and snacks, while KSU staff, Grant Stepp, David Morton, Christian Flowers, and Jessica Holman mastered the grill cooking the hotdogs.
