All of our KYA 2026 season, we’re celebrating eight decades of the Kentucky Youth Assembly helping young people find their voices, build connections, and grow as leaders! Last Thursday’s anniversary breakfast kicked off our celebrations and brought our community together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the students, alumni, advisors, volunteers, families, and supporters who have shaped KYA along the way.

We’re excited to continue celebrating this milestone, sharing the stories behind it, and looking ahead to the next chapter together!

Every year, we get to celebrate the advisors who go above and beyond for our students. 🏆 The Advisor Hall of Fame recognizes those who've given years of dedicated service to Kentucky YMCA programs, and inductees are announced at closing sessions of both KYA and KUNA. Know an advisor who deserves recognition? Nominations are open year-round for advisors with 5+ years of service, nominated by Y-staff, students, teachers, or alumni. You can even nominate someone no longer active in the program. Just fill out this quick nomination form:

Today we remember Melanie Carroll. Melanie was a beloved member of our KY YMCA family, and her impact continues to be felt by students awarded scholarships to GFI and LTC in her name through the Melanie Carroll Legacy Scholarship.

Her family has honored her memory by investing in teen leadership and helping students grow, learn, serve, meet their people, and find their potential.

Today we celebrate the life she lived, the hearts she touched, and the legacy that continues in her name.
