The big day is almost here - Father's Day!

In honor of all that this month means for dads and those serving in father-like roles, we are sharing a piece of ONE OF OUR BEST COLLABORATION EXPERIENCES ever...πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

This video clip comes from our "HORSEPOWER: The Collaborative Family Conference Experience!" event held this past April, in conjunction with the amazing folks from the Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families (CCFF). We specifically designed this event to focus on fathers and those serving in father-like roles, to highlight some of the most-important-yet-often-forgotten special guys in our lives. Thank you to everyone for your support of our vision, with special thanks to CCFF for capturing so many heartwarming moments and bringing them to life!

Happy second week of June! This week we are challenging people to learn more about SAHD's, or "Stay At Home Dads," and their unique needs.

While many fathers are choosing to be SAHD's for caregiving purposes, 34% are in the role due to illness or disability. This has significant implications for dads and families, and - based on our experience with family peer support services - key opportunities for service providers as well.

Check out the information below from fathercraft.com that shows a steady incline in the number of SAHD's since 1989, and the reasons behind this increase.

Do you know of a dad or someone serving in a father caregiver role who could benefit from KPFC's family peer support services? Reach out to Kelly Minton, our Program Implementation Specialist, to learn more today: [email protected]

Approximately 2.1 to 2.2 million fathers in the United States are stay-at-home dads β€” representing about 7% of all fathers living with children under 18, and roughly 1 in 5 stay-at-home parents. This data, from the U.S. Census Bureau and Pew Research Center, shows the share has grown steadily from...

KPFC values its public and private partnerships beyond measure. Last night, the sun, moon, and stars aligned when KPFC's Tami Blevins had the opportunity to attend EC LEARN Northern Kentucky's 5yr Birthday Bash event and bumped into our friend, Bobby from our managed IT support provider, C-Forward!

Congratulations to EC Learn for an amazing 5 years, and thank you for a delightful evening in support of all of your wonderful work to influence healthy, positive early childhood experiences in Kentucky!

Happy June, everyone!

We are so excited to share that we are dedicating this entire month to the father figures in our lives - to all of the amazing dads/fathers, stepfathers, grandpas/grandfathers, etc. that people immediately think of, along with the ones that many people don't...

Who are we talking about? The positive male role models who have made a difference in our lives, who make us and our families better - regardless of whether or not they're biologically related.

So join us over the next 4 and 1/2 weeks as we celebrate, dedicate, recognize, and memorialize all of the significant father figures and influences in our lives, and be sure to share the ones in yours!

KPFC is fortunate to have an amazing team of *both* Family Peer Support Specialists *and* Youth Peer Support Specialists - all of whom we recognize each October during Global Peer Support Appreciation Day.

Today, we would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the important work being done nationwide by Parent (or Family, Caregiver, etc.) Peer Support Providers and thank them for their efforts.

*To learn more about KPFC's Family Peer Support services: https://kypartnership.org/kpfc-peer-support-centers/

Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, and lived experience of Parent Peer Supporter Providers who walk beside families through some of life’s hardest moments. Your empathy creates hope, your advocacy creates change, and your presence reminds families they are not alone.

Thank you for turning lived experience into connection, courage, and community every single day.
