Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, but now is the time to make your voting plan!

Whether you plan to vote by mail, vote early or head to the polls on Election Day, Kentucky's Voter Information Center can help you find the information you need.

📬 Voting by Mail
Eligible Kentucky voters may request a mail-in absentee ballot through Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Completed mail-in ballots must be received by your county clerk by 6 p.m. local time on Election Day, Nov. 3.

🗓️ Early Voting
No-excuse early in-person voting will be available Oct. 29–31. Locations and hours vary by county.

✅ Check your current Kentucky voter registration information
✅ Find your precinct and districts

💊 That’s a wrap on Pikeville!

The second stop of the 2026 KPhA Rx Roundtable Series was a great success! We were thrilled to bring together pharmacists and pharmacy professionals from across Eastern Kentucky for a day of learning, connection and advocacy.

A special thank you to Sen. Phillip Wheeler and Rep. Bobby McCool for joining us and actively participating in our roundtable discussions. Having legislators at the table to hear directly from Pikeville-area pharmacists about the challenges and opportunities facing pharmacy practice makes these conversations especially meaningful.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences and helped make the day a success!

The NASPA Pharmacy-based Point-of-Care Test & Treat National Certificate Program provides participants with the skills and information needed to develop and implement pharmacy-based testing services for conditions such as influenza, Group A Streptococcus, HIV, Hepatitis C, coronaviruses and chronic diseases.

This 20-hour ACPE-accredited certificate program includes:
🏠 16 hours of home study covering key disease states, physical assessment, point-of-care testing, treatment and business models
👩‍⚕️ 4 hours of live training focused on demonstrating proficiency in physical assessments and point-of-care testing
✅ Cumulative assessment to complete the certificate program

The program is designed for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacists, academia and pharmacy association staff.

DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE!

KPhA is one of five organizations responsible for appointing representatives to the Kentucky Medicaid Pharmacy Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC), which provides advice and recommendations to Kentucky Medicaid on matters related to pharmacy services and benefits.

One of KPhA’s current appointees will conclude their service at the end of this calendar year, creating a vacancy that will be filled effective January 1, 2027.
There is no set term of service for this position. The KPhA appointee will begin service on January 1, 2027, and remain on PTAC indefinitely until a successor is appointed.

The appointee does not have to be a pharmacist, and KPhA welcomes expressions of interest from members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences who have an interest in Kentucky Medicaid and pharmacy-related issues.

PTAC generally meets once every other month, usually on Wednesday afternoons from 1–3 p.m. ET. The meeting schedule may change in future years. More information is available on the PTAC website: https://www.chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dms/tac/Pages/ptac.aspx.
