(DFI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established to ​promote historical downtown Frankfort by creating exceptional experiences and aesthetics for all those who live, work and visit. Support and advocate for businesses, residents and tourists through marketing, partnerships

, networking platforms and signature events. The DFI board of directors is comprised of up to 13 members nominated by committee and elected by the board. An additional four members representing the City of Frankfort, Kentucky Capital Development Corporation, the Frankfort-Franklin County Tourism Commission and the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, serve in ex-officio, non-voting capacity. DFI funding is derived from budget allocations from the City of Frankfort, individual donations, sponsorships, fundraising events, and contracted partners. DFI works to promote downtown as an exciting place to live, work, invest, and visit. Program of work includes: improving the appearance of downtown; developing and improving events that bring local residents and tourists downtown; efforts toward historic preservation, and supporting the City of Frankfort with implementation of the Master Plan. Examples of DFI events include the Summer Concert Series, Candlelight Weekend, Derby, and play supporting role for third party events like the Bourbon on the Banks Festival.

🎶 HOORAY — IT’S CONCERT WEEK! 🎶

And this Friday is going to be extra special as we wrap up our Summer Concert Series with Local’s Night! ❤️

This concert will be a celebration of community, local music, and one of downtown Frankfort’s longtime staples — Buddy's Pizza.

We’ll be honoring Mike Hedden, and there are several special things planned:

🍕 A Slice for Mike — Buddy’s Pizza will be offering a special "A Slice for Mike" deal this Friday during the concert.

📜 A Special Proclamation — A reading of an official city proclamation honoring Mike before the concert begins.

👋 Meet the New Owners — The new owners of Buddy’s Pizza will officially introduce themselves to the community!

For more than two decades, Buddy’s Pizza has been part of the fabric of downtown Frankfort — and they’ve been part of our concert series from the very beginning. How many of us have ordered a Buddy’s pizza, grabbed a spot on the lawn, and enjoyed dinner while listening to live music?

So, let’s come together this Friday and honor Mike the Frankfort way — with great LOCAL music, good friends, community and delicious pizza! A Slice for Mike!
