NSPE-KY is proud to announce that Jordan Haney, PE, has been selected by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) as the recipient of the 2026 National New Professional Engineer of the Year Award.
Earlier this year, Jordan was recognized by NSPE-KY as Kentucky’s 2026 New Professional Engineer of the Year before advancing to the national competition.
This prestigious national award recognizes a young engineer who has demonstrated exceptional professional achievement, leadership, service to the profession, and community involvement early in their career. Jordan will officially receive the award during NSPECon26 in Brooklyn, New York this August.
Jordan serves as President and Principal Engineer of Thoroughbred Engineering and has been deeply involved in NSPE-KY leadership since joining the organization in 2020. Through the Bluegrass Chapter, he has served in numerous leadership roles including Chapter President, and he currently serves as Bluegrass Region Vice President on the NSPE-KY State Board.
Professionally, Jordan has distinguished himself through his work in geotechnical, infrastructure, aviation, and economic development projects across Kentucky and beyond. He has also demonstrated a strong commitment to mentorship, STEM outreach, professional advocacy, and community service.
Jordan becomes the ninth engineer from Kentucky to receive this national honor, continuing a strong tradition of leadership and professional excellence within NSPE-KY. Previous Kentucky recipients include:
