The below statistics are not national, these are children in our very own county that are currently in the Foster Care system as of January 31, 2026.

One month into the new year and we have 279 children that are in a Foster Care program from Will County.

At DSWD Fosters Hope, we are dedicated to providing children and teens in foster care with the support, resources, and love they need to thrive.

Together, we can ensure that no child or teen ever feels alone in their journey.

We are so excited that once more our team will be "dashing" through the aisles of Meijer to shop for holiday gifts, clothing, non-perishable food and hygiene items for the 25 children from My Joyful Heart and 20 Veteran's from VOA Illinois we have sponsored this year as well as our annual effort to provide gift bags for Operation Blessing and stocking stuffers for Operation Christmas!!

Each year this brings the joy of the season to our team, our community and to the organizations we support! With your help we can make an even bigger impact!

As the last fireworks fade from the sky, thoughts of Back to School start creeping in for many of us. For those that are unable to buy the supplies that their kids need to start the year off right they turn to local agencies that provide back to school essentials. For the 3rd year in a row, we are participating in VOA-Illinois Operation Backpack. Our team members will fill backpacks with needed supplies for kids K-12. Additionally, we will be making Birthday Party Kits for MyJoyFul Heart. These kits include everything to make a cake and eat it too!
