Read more about why the gas tax suspension is political theatre and not good government. "For the average Kentucky driver, however, the savings would be relatively small. A driver traveling 15,000 miles per year in a vehicle averaging 25 miles per gallon would save an estimated $5.30 per month — or about $1.25 per week. This marginal benefit extends to out-of-state travelers and commercial trucking traffic passing through Kentucky. They will receive the same tax break while continuing to place the same wear and tear on Kentucky’s roads and bridges — costs that Kentucky taxpayers will ultimately have to absorb later through delayed projects, deteriorating infrastructure, and higher long-term maintenance expenses." 👇🏻

KBT Member Monday featuring the Taylor County Airport! 🛩

The Taylor County Airport is a county-owned public use airport located in Campbellsville that was originally developed in the 1950’s. They serve general aviation, corporate aviation, law enforcement, air ambulance, and, military operations. They also are proud to boast an excellent service and repair shop.

In 2024, the airport recorded 8,050 trackable operations with their Virtower tracking system, though likely higher. There are currently 24 aircrafts “based” at the airport, most of which are small single engine aircraft belonging to private individuals. There is a great deal of corporate activity at the airport, as well as being used by small businesses and civic organizations. The airport welcomes school groups for tours and also hosts an aviation camp conducted by DreamFlight Charities.

KBT Member Monday: Louisville Riverport Authority

The Louisville Riverport Authority (LRA) has been a centerpiece of economic growth and development in Louisville, Kentucky for the past 30 years. Riverport is still an ideal location for businesses to grow as demonstrated by companies like Kentucky Trailer, Dynacraft, Algood Food, and Coca-Cola Consolidated.

Today LRA is home to more than 100 companies engaged primarily in manufacturing or logistics and distribution. Riverport’s proximity to major roadways, rail, the Ohio River, the availability of a well-prepared workforce and access to cost-effective utilities make it especially attractive to advanced manufacturing companies.

LRA is also a Foreign-Trade Zone with financial incentives for importers and exporters of raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods. In addition, the nearby UPS Worldport makes Louisville International Airport one of the nation’s busiest cargo operations and Louisville a leader in logistics and distribution.
