The war in Myanmar is now Asia’s deadliest conflict and a nearly unequalled humanitarian catastrophe with more than 100,000 killed, according to a conflict-monitoring group.

The rest of the world has decided to ignore the conflict amid other major geopolitical developments, writes expert Josh Kurlantzick.

"As the body count rises, the question now is whether anyone with the power to help still cares to look—or whether looking away is its own kind of answer."

Opportunity to help us raise funds!

I don’t need your money - just your time! We will be volunteering at the legion for bingo on Monday evenings. They will donate money for every person that volunteers.

Rules are simple … you must be 18. You must be able to walk and be on your feet for a few hours, and you must not be grumpy 😂

Let me know if this is some way you would like to help out - I will need to give a headcount every time we volunteer.

Thank you all!!

Hello friends and Chaos Creek followers - we need your help!!

We were gratefully gifted this van a little bit ago for Chaos Creek travels and such. However, she does need a little TLC. Garrick has done some of the work already - changed the transmission oil and some kind of transmission lines that I don’t remember the name of. (I’m sure he’ll chime in and give the details 😂)
It still needs a set of tires and brakes on the rear. There are some cosmetic things that we really aren’t concerned with - we’d just like to get it mechanically sound and ready for the road!! The cost of tires and brake repairs will be about $1200.
If you’d like to help out with the cost of these repairs, we would be so appreciative!! As always - every donation is a tax deduction - we are a registered non-profit! I’ll add the PayPal and Venmo links below!

Just a quick post tonight before I sleep. It’s been a rough few days - I’ve been suffering with a kidney stone - and made a couple of trips to the ER - so, I apologize I haven’t kept up with my posts!!

For those of you who have donated yarn, crochet hats and blankets, I want to share some pictures of where they are now! They are covering the heads and bodies of some sweet babies and will be loved and cherished for years to come!!

I’ll always take hat and blanket donations if you’re interested in helping out with that! This year I ended up with two totes full of them for the newborn clinic!

If you don’t crochet or knit - I’ll always take yarn! There is always a bunch at A New Lease on Life in Frankfort AND Ollie’s advertised some in their flyer I got in the mail today!!

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn" (NKJV)

Wool drying in the jungle to later be woven into clothing by some of the ladies!!! It was so cool as a fiber artist myself to walk up to see this!! The level of talent of the Karen is nothing short of amazing! We are so blessed to share daily lives with them. Our “extended family”.

Life is a little slower in the jungle! Sipping coffee on the porch one morning in the jungle and this guy comes stomping past our house. You never know what you’ll see. As Garrick said “Traffic was a little heavy this morning!”
