I Support the 1%, Veteran Food Pantry Less than 1% of the American public serve in the Military. Of those, our part-time military often suffers economically because of long deployments.

The mission of 'I SUPPORT THE 1%' is to provide a Food Pantry for active duty Military, National Guardsmen and women, Reservists of all Branches, and Veterans throughout Michigan. While full-time military have a constant paycheck, Guards and Reservists do not. They're paid for only one weekend a month of training and their month of summer training. Other than that, they must support themselves. Yet, due to long-term deployments, many return to find the well-paying job they once held no longer there for them. Employers simply are unwilling to hire our Guards and Reservists because of these potential deployments. This means too many hold low-paying or part-time jobs that just can't meet their bills. But why a Pantry just for these military? Because too many have too much pride in their uniform to appear needy before the public, and just choose to go hungry. This should not happen. We are so Grateful for the ongoing support by the Michigan Mad Viking Beard Club. Thank you for the generous cases of food donated and supporting our mission that “No Veteran Should Ever Go Hungry”. Special Thanks to our volunteers Donna, Jill, Kyle, Clinton and his son Milo who is our youngest volunteer who gave up their Saturday to help. Milo’s photo was taken after all of the marking of dates on the donated goods,sorting all and stocking the shelves 🇺🇸

We are so Grateful for the $500 check from Rich Mark Private Wealth Management in Frankenmuth. The staff held a get together during the Auto Fest for their clients plus a food drive. Our pantry received awesome non perishable goods from their clients who support our mission that “No Veteran Should Ever Go Hungry”. Grace Exchange Store in Birch Run is having a warehouse sale. The store is owned by a Purple Heart Recipient, Army Veteran Josh McDermott and his wife Kim. The business has supported our pantry for years raising money to support our mission plus is a drop off location for food donations.
