ArtSparks is back for 2026 on the Gale Riverwalk!

Created by Franconia artist Kathie Lovett, ArtSparks invites visitors of all ages to pause, explore, and respond to the environment around them through playful prompts, creativity, and moments of reflection in nature.

One visitor response from 2025:

“This made our morning! My husband and I are over from Fryeburg, ME. Still a little sleepy from camping, stopped for coffee and found your sweet place in the woods. We’ve just been processing our lives with adult children who have happily outgrown our home. It’s nice to be reminded we can still play even without an audience of our children to entertain!

Love + Peace
Sam & Brian”

We can’t wait to see how visitors respond during the 2026 Artwalk.

Calling all artists. 🎨

This is CoCo, a featured sculpture from last year’s Franconia Art Walk by artist Dave Channon of Shandaken, New York.

Working in scrap metal and steel, Dave transforms found materials into bold, playful forms that live beautifully in public space. His work is a great example of the creativity and craftsmanship we look for each season.

🎨 We’re now accepting submissions for future Franconia Art Walk exhibitions.
Sculptors and artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply.

When your public art goes missing and somehow finds its way back. 🍌

This really happened on the Franconia Art Walk.
One playful sculpture disappeared just days after installation.
Two weeks later, it mysteriously returned and became one of our most talked-about moments of the season.

🎨 We’re now accepting submissions for future exhibitions.
Artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply.

Date to remember and act by:
Thursday April 10

What's happening?
Representatives Matt Wilhelm (D-Manchester) and Nicholas Bridle (R-Hampton) are introducing a bipartisan budget amendment on the House floor to reverse the proposed elimination of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts (NHSCA) and fully restore its funding in the state budget.

🎨Please consider reaching out to your State Representative(s) and urge them to vote YES on the Wilhelm-Bridle budget amendment on Thursday.

👉 Franconia Artwalk, and numerous other organizations, have received vital support from NHSCA. These grants help make not just our local Artwalk possible, but local concerts, exhibits, youth programs, theater, and cultural events as well.

"In 2024 alone, NHSCA gave more than $1.5 million to 180 projects in over 60 towns, helping to keep our communities vibrant and connected. This funding supports real jobs, small businesses, and a creative economy that brings in $3.4 billion to our state and supports 21,000 jobs — as many as the construction industry." former ED of NH State Council on the Arts.

👉 Please contact your Reps ASAP and ask them to vote YES on the Wilhelm-Bridle amendment when it comes up on Thursday.

See our bio for links: list of your local reps and more state budget information

Speak up to help show your support in keeping the arts ALIVE!!

Thank you,
Your Franconia Artwalk Association board of directors and volunteers
