It’s always sad to watch the snow melt. However spring also has its beauty as the water falls and the clouds roll over the mountains. Still a few more days of spring skiing left!

It looks like it’s going to be a cold weekend! As we all know, where there is cold, there is good skiing. Just remember if you decide to ski this weekend, dress warm, pack hand warmers, and keep all of your skin covered up. Make sure you have the number to ski patrol for emergencies especially on cold days where time can matter.

We look forward to skiing with you

Congratulations to Charlie Krautman (furthest left), Derek Robert’s (second left), Reed Wilson (second right), and Jace Wirth (furthest right) for completing their training for Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC). The FNSPA is very proud of the four graduates who decided to up their game and learn and commit to providing emergency medical care to those who need it on the mountain! Whether it was to join Ski Patrol, or to better themselves with knowledge and ability, the FNSPA is pleased to see those reaching their goals to train to help others. We wish all four of you to continue your careers in helping others and bettering yourselves in training and discipline. Thank you for what you do!

Yesterday, Cannon Mountain opened for the ski season and it did not disappoint. We saw lots of people with smiling faces ready to get out there and have fun! By the first closing of year when Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol began the sweep procedures, the night sky began by lighting up with a beautiful red color! As the old saying goes, “red sky by night, sailers delight!” Or in this case it’s “red sky by night, skiers delight.”

Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol wants to thank everyone for prioritizing safety as we begin this season. It was evident that everyone was looking out for one another. It makes everyone’s day so much better! It saves lives!

Additionally, SHOUTOUT to the young fellow who accidentally dropped his glove under the Cannonball Quad Lift, and rather than poaching the trail and getting it himself, he asked Ski Patrol for assistance! Thats the type of stuff we like to see as it shows that you care about the safety measures taken to protect you and us. We hope that everyone continues to show us this courtesy.

Continue being safe on the slopes wherever you are, and have fun! See you soon! ⛷️

Yes you are seeing it correctly, that’s the current summit of Cannon Mountain with our beautiful Ski Patrol Summit Cabin. If you haven’t seen it yet, Cannon Mountain just posted that they are opening a week earlier than anticipated as the snow making conditions have been ideal! Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol is stoked to be back and ready for an early beginning to the season! Cannon Mountain has announced that they will officially open Saturday November 22. Just a couple of days away. You should check out their page for more info.😉

As always, we ask that you make your number 1 priority to ski safely so everyone can have a good time. The way you ski affects everybody, not just you. Remember the Alpine Responsibility Code! But of course, always enjoy the ski season.

We are expecting a great ski season this year, so check your local resort for updates on when they will open, and of course come by and say hi to Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol this weekend! We will see you there! 🎿 ⛷️ 🏥 Stay tuned for updates regarding Ski Patrol.

Ski season is almost here! Your local Ski Patrol is training hard for the upcoming season. We had a great yearly hands on refresher course for our OEC certified patrollers (Outdoor Emergency Care), and great hands on training with aerial lift evacuations! Thank you to all patrollers who participated! We are very happy to see so many step up for the passion of safety and care on the mountain so we all can enjoy the snow.

Have you looked at your responsibility code for your ski area yet? Remember to look it over so you know how to ski safe for you and others around you! Accidents don’t only involve you remember. Let’s enjoy the winter! ❄️ ⛷️

The autumn season is coming to an end. We are counting down the days for the ski season to start! Of course, we have been anticipating the ski season since it ended in April/May. Throughout the summer, the FNSPA has been hosting trainings for local ski patrollers looking to maintain or advance their skills for the upcoming winter. We are very proud with how this years trainings went! Everybody did such a great job and are now prepared to help your local ski area with safety and rescues!

The ski season is very close, so now would be a great time to learn your “responsibility code” for your ski area! The less accidents there are, the more fun everyone can have while on the slopes!
