This morning at 3:44 am the Francisco Fire Department responded to a mutual aid call for a barn fire. The barn was full of round bales of hay. With the help of multiple other agencies we were able control the spread saving a second barn as seen in the photos below. The Francisco Fire Department left scene around 8:45 am. There was no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is not known at this time.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our annual hose testing a success today! 🚒💦

A special shoutout to our friend from East Gibson Fire Territory, the two firefighters from Barton Township Fire Department, and of course our own Francisco Volunteer Fire Department members.

Between all of us, we pulled enough hose to make our backs question our career choices, got a little wetter than planned, and probably burned enough calories to skip the gym for a week. 😂

Seriously though, we couldn't have asked for a better group to spend the morning with. Your willingness to lend a hand is a great reminder that the fire service is one big family, and we're grateful for your time, hard work, and teamwork.

Thank you all for helping keep our equipment ready to serve our community. We appreciate every one of you! ❤️🚒

🚧 Road Closures Begin at 6:00 AM Today 🚧

Beginning at 6:00 AM, the Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will begin closing the roads shown in the attached maps as we conduct our annual hose testing.

Please avoid these areas if possible and use alternate routes until testing is complete. We ask everyone to use caution around firefighters and equipment and never drive through a closed roadway.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we complete this essential annual testing to help ensure our equipment is ready when our community needs us most.

Reminder! The Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting our annual hose testing tomorrow, Saturday, July 25, beginning at 6:00 AM.

Temporary road closures and traffic delays will be in place during testing to help keep everyone safe. Please review the attached road closure maps and plan your travel accordingly.

🚒 Annual Hose Testing Notice 🚒

The Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting our annual hose testing on Saturday, July 25, beginning at 6:00 AM.

During this process, there will be temporary road closures and traffic interruptions in the testing area to ensure the safety of our firefighters and the public.

Please see the attached photos for the road closure locations and plan your travel accordingly. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important annual testing to ensure our equipment is ready to serve our community.

🚒 VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED THIS SATURDAY! 🚒

This Saturday, July 25 at 6:00 AM, the Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting our annual hose testing, and we could really use a few more helping hands!

No experience is necessary—there are plenty of simple tasks like stretching, cleaning, rolling, and marking hose. Many hands make light work, and every volunteer helps us get this important job done safely and efficiently.

🚒 Ever wanted to volunteer...without the long-term commitment? 😄

Here's your chance!

The Francisco Fire Department is looking for a few extra hands for our annual hose testing on Saturday, July 25, starting at 6:00 AM at Second & School Street.

We'll be stretching, cleaning, rolling, and marking fire hose. No experience needed—we'll show you the ropes (or hoses 😉).

Come out, lend a hand, have a few laughs, and help us keep our equipment ready to protect our community. The more volunteers we have, the faster we'll finish!

As June comes to a close, we're proud to share our six-month total for 2026: 73 calls for service from January through June.
