Everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, earn a paycheck, and experience the pride that comes from meaningful work. Road to Responsibility's (Road To Responsibility, Inc.) “Human services are rooted in compassion, but compassion alone cannot sustain a workforce. Dedication does not pay rent or cover the cost of groceries. When workers are asked to give endlessly while receiving too little in return, the effects ripple outward. Organizations face staffing shortages, services become harder to access and families encounter longer waits for the support they need."

When adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities turn 22, they age out of school-based services — and for many families, that means a sudden loss of structure, community, and purpose overnight. Post-22 (Post 22: Training & Employment for Disabled Adults, Inc.) is a Massachusetts human services provider that fills the gap by providing ongoing training, meaningful internships, and real employment opportunities, so adults over 22 can keep growing, contributing, and belonging to a community.

Yesterday, Providers’ Council hosted its Annual New England Regional Retreat, bringing together nonprofit professionals from across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont for a day of connection, collaboration, and shared learning.

Together, attendees exchanged insights, shared best practices, and explored strategies to strengthen and support the nonprofit sector across New England. It was an inspiring opportunity to learn from one another, build relationships, and work collectively toward a stronger future for the communities we serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their ideas, expertise, and passion. We’re grateful for the continued collaboration and commitment that make our nonprofit community so strong! 💙
