Happy International Nurse Day to our nurses Patti and Raffi! 💙🤍🖤

Both Patti and Raffi lead by example, following RISE’s mission of providing wholistic, empathetic, and patient centered care to every one of our patients. Through their leadership and dedication, they have managed to expand STI, HIV, and Hepatitis C services across the metro west.

RISE has been on the go this week! 🚙💨

Our amazing team of staff has been taking our services out into the community and making sure we prevent STIs one test at a time. In the last week, we’ve had the pleasure of partnering with both and for testing events.

Services provided included:
⭐️ STI/HIV testing
⭐️ Free condoms and l**e
⭐️ HIV, Hepatitis C and STI prevention training

This weekend we had the honor and pleasure to attend & present at the Ending the HIV Epidemic Summit, hosted by the Boston EMA Ryan White Planning Council’s Consumer Committee!

In a time full of uncertainty, sharing a meal & conversation with fellow community members, care providers, and change makers was the inspiration needed to continue our fight against HIV.

Aside from getting to learn about the projects other providers are working on, we were also able to share about our peer support services (see our poster on slide 3). With over 200 hours of service in the last fiscal year, our peer support staff have been able to maintain services with a cohort of 23 long term clients.

Thank you to the Consumer Committee for all the work, the Ryan White Foundation for the continuous support of HIV initiatives, and all the people working day by day to end the HIV epidemic. See you next year!

Routine testing is the best prevention for HIV/STI transmission! Luckily for you, Program RISE is partnering with Framingham State University for a fast, hassle-free, confidential testing event.

Take a break from your studying sesh and stop by the health and wellness center to get tested. Don't have insurance? Don't worry, we're here to help!

Yesterday we showed up as a community to commemorate World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day was established in 1988 to remember those who were lost and advocate for continued prevention and treatment interventions. Our program and SMOC Framingham have held this event for the last 20 years, including generations of staff and clients that believe in the power of days like this. Days where we can share grief, encouragement, and passion with one another. Creating spaces where our clients feel seen, supported, and validated. Despite the injustice we are seeing in our country, yesterday we were able to share a space like this. Filled with music, smiles, and delicious food.

Although this WAD marked the first in 37 years to not be recognized by the federal government, we encourage you to keep these days and spaces alive. We will not be erased. We will keep on pushing for what is right and advocating for those whose voices are trying to be silenced. We will Rethink. Rebuild. Rise.
