It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Executive Director, Dr. Ken Lowey.

Dr. Lowey’s unwavering leadership, boundless generosity, and steadfast dedication formed the very foundation of our organization. His vision, compassion, and support touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.

Dr. Lowey will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Monday Mention on a Tuesday 😊

In just two weeks we will reopen our Food Pantry at Brockton High School.

On this sunny Tuesday morning, we are sharing a great big THANK YOU with Hope Worldwide Massachusetts HOPE worldwide Massachusetts and Boston Church of Christ South Coastal Region Boston Church of Christ, South Coastal Region for hosting a backpack and food drive to help us prepare for our reopening in the weeks ahead.

The 120 backpacks that you collected and donated and the snacks and meals that you shopped for from our food wish list will help us get through the first 2 Fridays of service. And your generous financial donation is already helping us stretch our budget further this school year.

Sending a special thank you to Brockton Public School’s Yvette Joyce for leading this program. Yvette - thank you for taking this on and making it such a success!

(And to our friend, Kathy Sheridan .sheridan.1214 thank you for passing the baton to Yvette…the volunteerism that you cultivated for us over the last few years through Hope Worldwide and the church is in great hands and continues today. 💚)

Volunteer Today: Sign Up to Become an ESL Conversation Partner

Are you interested in learning about a different culture and supporting passionate individuals who are serving their community? Join the ESL team in a collaboration with HOPE Worldwide Massachusetts and HOPE Worldwide Bolivia by volunteering online as a Conversation Partner for English teachers in Bolivia! (Even if this isn't a fit for you, please share so it will get a wider audience!)

As a Conversation Partner, you will:
Give English teachers in Bolivia the chance to grow their own English skills so that they can become better teachers
Build cross-cultural relationships
Help passionate, young (ages 17-21) individuals develop skills to help pursue their dreams, including becoming paid English teachers, studying in a different country, communicating with people from different cultures, and accessing new and better job opportunities
No experience is required! You won't be teaching English, but instead will be giving others an opportunity to practice conversation. If you are fluent in English and are able to commit about 60 minutes every 2 weeks, you're the right fit for this program!
