T***s Fore Tufts was organized in memory of Marc "T***s" Jackson. For those who may not have had the honor to know Marc, he was an amazing person. Just calling him an amazing person does not do him justice and sounds a bit cliché, but we can only describe him by the words that are available to us. Marc's generosity knew no bounds, and it is because of this that we wanted to start an organization t
o keep Marc's spirit of generosity alive. Marc was diagnosed with brain cancer in December of 2004. Marc lost his eight and a half year battle with brain cancer on May 21, 2013; he was only 35 years old. Marc never complained about his illness and faced all his days with humor, kindness, and a true zest for life. Those who knew him will truly miss him and his deep laugh forever. Throughout Marc's battle, he and his family became very close to the medical team supporting him. Marc also learned that many patients must travel from different states to receive their treatment. Because many of these patients do not have adequate funds, traveling for their cancer treatments can put them and their families into a significant financial hardship. The Tufts Neuro-Oncology Patient Care Support Fund was established by his oncologist, Dr. Lynne Taylor, to aid both patients and their families with their travel related expenses while they receive their treatment. Because Marc felt blessed to have the support of his family during his treatments, his wish was to support the Neuro-Oncology Patient Care Support Fund so that others patients families could travel and provide the same comforts.
