MetroWest YMCA

MetroWest YMCA Dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Come see what we are all about and let us help you "Find Your Y."

The MetroWest YMCA is a cause-driven charitable organization that offers programs and services that support a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Through our focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, we strive to nurture the potential of every MetroWest resident while strengthening our community. In Framingham, we offer an award-winning Early Learning Center (282 Old Conne

cticut Path), a seasonal Clearbrook Swim Club (120 Parker Road), and a full-facility branch with a gym, pool, and year-round sports, aquatics, nutrition, fitness, weight-loss, personal training, and enrichment programming for all ages (280 Old Connecticut Path). We offer a 122-acre Family Outdoor Center in Hopkinton (45 East Street) with boating, archery, rock climbing, and seasonal outdoor adventure. We also provide before-and-after-school educational programming in area schools and six summer camps throughout the MetroWest. Through our work, we take on the most urgent needs in our community - fighting food insecurity, teaching vital water safety skills, offering chronic disease prevention programs, and providing financial assistance so everyone can benefit. During the Boston Marathon training season, we talk a lot about our Marathon charity team, the runners, the fundraising, the miles.
But what we hear less about are the quiet moments of community that happen along the way.

Like recently, when we needed a small batch of race shirts printed for runners who wanted their names on the front. When it proved difficult to find a vendor, we reached out to Jessie Perry, a former Y runner, who stepped in without hesitation to make it happen. When asked how to thank her, she said no, she just wanted to help.

This year, Jessie is running the Boston Marathon for Family Promise Metrowest, an organization we’re proud to partner with that serves families experiencing or are at risk of homelessness.

In times when budgets are tight, funding is limited, instead of adversarial relationships, charity teams work together.

Charity runners raise critical funds for organizations and local communities to serve different needs. But the value they bring goes far beyond dollars. It’s the connection, collaboration and community that they bring that makes the charity runners contributions extra special.

We know there are lots of big and small shared moments from your marathon journey. We’d love to hear your moment. Please share below in comments. (Pictured is the Marathon Coalition, coached by Marathon Coalition Rick Muhr and includes dozens of Boston Athletic Association charity teams).

Today we celebrate Sam! Sam is running her first Boston for our Y and we are thrilled to have her on our team. Sam brings humor and strength to the team. She joined the Y several years ago as while recovering from 4-compartment fasciotomy surgeries on both legs to treat her compartment syndrome. According to Sam, the community at the Y made her more comfortable as she built back mobility and strength, with kind staff and regular early morning gym goers making her feel comfortable and included.

Sam was also nice enough to share her story at our 2026 Marathon Community Breakfast, a video we will share soon. If you are an early morning gym person, say hello if you see Sam! Can't wait to cheer you on April 20th Sam! If you would like to support Sam, you can go directly to her fundraising page by clicking the link below.
