Tip Tuesday: Consider switching to wired technology when possible.

Using wired internet connections and accessories can help reduce your exposure to wireless radiofrequency (RF) radiation at home. Simple changes like using an Ethernet cable or wired headphones instead of wireless devices can help reduce unnecessary exposure.

Every small step toward a healthier environment matters. 💜

It's

Summer = grilling season. While enjoying your favorite cookout foods,
keep these cancer prevention tips in mind:

Grilling meat at high temperatures can create
carcinogenic chemicals called heterocyclic amines
(HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs),
which may damage DNA over time with extended
exposure.

Here are a few ways to reduce exposure:
• Flip meat frequently to prevent charring
• Trim off any blackened or charred portions before
serving
• Pair grilled foods with fruits and vegetables rich in
antioxidants
• Marinate meats in citrus-based marinades, which may
help reduce harmful chemical formation

Small changes can make a big difference when it
comes to cancer prevention this summer.

Tip Tuesday: Make Your Own Natural Bug Spray

Skip the harsh chemicals and make a simple DIY bug spray using just a few ingredients.

You'll need:
• A glass spray bottle
• Oil of lemon eucalyptus or lavender essential oil
• Witch hazel

1) Mix 1 part oil of lemon eucalyptus or lavender essential oil with 10 parts witch hazel in your spray bottle. (For every 1 drop of essential oil, use 10 drops of witch hazel.)
2) Shake gently to combine.
3) Spray onto exposed skin before spending time outdoors.

When making a bug spray that's safe for your skin, it's important to choose essential oils that are appropriate for topical use. This is a great alternative for those looking to reduce their exposure to unnecessary chemicals while enjoying the outdoors this summer.

Have you ever made your own bug spray? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

☀️ July is UV Safety Awareness Month

Spending time outdoors is one of the best parts of summer—but protecting yourself from the sun is an important part of protecting your health.

Simple habits like applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, wearing protective clothing, seeking shade during peak sunlight hours, and reapplying sunscreen every two hours can help reduce the harmful effects of UV exposure.

Enjoy the sunshine safely this summer, and remember that small preventive actions today can have a lasting impact tomorrow.
