The New England Ride for Kids® supports the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the search for the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors. Over the past three decades, PBTF has raised more than $70 million, making it the world’s largest non-governmental funder of childhood brain tumor research. Mission
PBTF supports medical res
earch into the cause of and cure for one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer. PBTF also provides educational and emotional support to families, promotes early detection and treatment, and raises public awareness about this devastating disease. Company Overview
Eleven children every day are diagnosed with a brain tumor. Brain tumors are one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer. Some tumors, such as atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors and some brain stem
gliomas, have survival rates of less than 20 percent. Ride for Kids® motorcycle events take place across America to raise funds for the PBTF. At each event, motorcyclists join a special community that includes brain tumor survivors and their families, doctors and volunteers. Together we celebrate the accomplishments of children who are fighting for their lives. The rides serve as a huge family support meeting that vividly demonstrates the motorcycling community’s caring support and the critical need for research. In 2013, the New England Ride for Kids® is one of 43 rides across the country. American Honda is the presenting sponsor of Ride for Kids®, and GEICO is the program’s national insurance sponsor. PBTF has a strategic partnership with Cycle World magazine. Many other companies in the motorcycle industry also support our cause. Join us as we make a difference in the lives of children with brain tumors. Let’s cure the kids!
