Pottery Studio in Framingham, Ma, offering clay classes and workshops for all ages and abilities. Community Kiln is a program of SMOC.

Community Kiln, the ceramics studio of the Brick Stack Art Center, is dedicated to educating and inspiring a community of artists in MetroWest. Here, students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can come together to experience, create, learn about, and celebrate ceramic arts.

Waiting to finish your bisqueware pieces because you just can’t decide how to glaze them? Maybe you need to brush up on your glazing techniques?

Whatever the reason, this workshop is for all levels. Learn the tips and tricks of our studio glazes at Community Kiln with instructor Michelle Lauterback.

This workshop will include demonstrational/instructional time, planning time and time to glaze your own bisqueware; Please bring 3-5 pieces of bisqueware to glaze during the workshop.

Each workshop is an opportunity to strengthen your artist’s toolbox! Are you looking for more tips and tricks to elevate your pots? Look no further than our July Surface Design Series. $40/a class includes demonstrations, discussion and hands on practice for each of these techniques

Students in a 2 or 4 year higher education program in ceramics or a related field are encouraged to apply. For this highly competitive program, only one recipient is chosen for the months of June, July and August. ☀️🏺

Please welcome our second recipient of our College Level Studio Membership, Keira (she/her). Keira is a rising Sophomore studying Fine Art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts (class of 2029). Her areas of interest include surface design, glaze and wheelthrowing.

From Keira: “I’m so honored to have been selected for this program and am excited to be able to learn more about this studio and community! I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge within the ceramic field and gaining a better understanding of how the behind the scenes part of this business.”
