Established in 1964, the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association is the statewide, representative body for recreational boating businesses in the Commonwealth. Our broad membership is comprised of boat builders, dealers, and brokers as well as marinas, boatyards, retailers, insurers and finance agents.

On Monday the MMTA hosted our 3rd annual golf tournament at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth. This tournament is our primary fundraiser for our educational trust to support our scholarship program and our KIDS in boating initiative supporting non-profit youth boating and fishing programs around the state. Congratulations to tournament Champion MarineMax Danvers and runner up Starkweather & Shepley. Congratulations to all prize and contest winners. Thank you to all attendees, sponsors, auction donators and volunteers that made this event successful and a great fundraiser.

It was great to attend the Region 1 Maritime Industry Roundtable event today at MMTA educational partner and member Massachusetts Maritime Academy - One of the presenters was President Pam Eddinger from another MMTA educational partner school Bunker Hill Community College. It was nice to connect with Kristen and Jackie from Bunker Hill CC as well as many other industry colleagues, state and federal employees and my friends from Job Corps .

The MMTA is pleased to Host ABYC for their Marine Electrical Certification training. We are hosting this course at one of our partner schools Cape Cod Community College and there are a total of 32 industry employees attending. Today is day 2 of 3 and we wish all of the attendees all the best on their test tomorrow. While attending I was able to stop by the marine training facility at the school. There are big things coming out of this program in the near future and we look forward to continuing to help support the school and our member businesses. Thank you to all participating members that were able to send their team members to this training.
