I know we have some newer followers on here. Just wanted to talk a little about the Phase 2 Fundraising we are doing.

Phase 1 for our retail program was getting the shop biult and ready for students and customers. We held our Grand Opening March 14, and our fist class of students completed level one two weeks ago.

Phase 2 is for the lower level of our space. We are working on building a creator space that we believe will serve multiple purposes - first and foremost, it will provide and opportunity for our retail students t keep working for a full six hour shift - kindof like how the culinary students are always prepping or cleaning. The retail students will be creating. They will have an opportunity to learn many different skills and to create items we will have available for sale in our shop.
The space will also provide an opportunity to teach entrerpenurial skills. It is our plan that the students will take with them some skillsets that they can use to supplement their income and keep them creatin throughout their lives.
We also want the space to provide a creative outlet for the community. There is nothing like it available on the west side of Livingston County - and we do love to build community!

Good Morning! There's always so much to do in June! We are having conversations with all the students to find out who is staying and who is moving on to employment! Ana and Angelina will be moving on soon, and we have two culinary and four retail students continuing to the next level! There are five new culinary students ready to join in July and four new retail students! I always feel so excited to get to know the new students!

Just a few more pictures of amazing people who made our gala so special. I was recently in a meeting with Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club's Golden Hearts Rotaract club. Presenters were talking about Genesis House in Howell. I asked them what they loved the most about Genesis House, and they said, "The people." It really is the people who make everything wonderful!

Good Morning! We won't be here today. We can only be open when we have enough students and staff available. That's just the nature of being a training facility. We do plan to have the Shoppe open on Saturdays once we get a solid set of students and systems in place. We are constantly learning!
